My Style: Looking for the Perfect Spring Dress? City Chic has a Dress or Two!

I love a great dress. Scratch that… I loooooove a great spring dress that I can rock more than once, more than a few ways, and for more than one occasion. Such is the case with City Chic and their fly plus size dress options! I have long been a fan of City Chic…  Anytime I need a fly cocktail, brunch, or date night option, I am always going to check out what City Chic has in store.

And did you know that Macy’s carries a wide assortment of City Chic options to play in? Ohhhh yes, and today, I wanted to share with you not only one of my favorites, but a few other options for you to play in, when you need a fun dress fix.

So, I chose this fun Floral Print Bodycon number for a few reasons.

One: The style

Girl, this dress is so much fun. Immediately I am thinking about where I am going, how much fun I am going to have, and how much this dress allows for both a feminine and rock and roll feel to it. A dress without feeling so frilly and feminine. The option to play it up and down.

Two: The Fit

City Chic’s dresses fit me amazingly. The fit bodice paired with a slight skim of my *hips* and bum leave me both supported and comfortable. Also, I love the illusion that I have hips here… because you know ol’ girl aint working with much… it’s okay! I have embraced this about myself. While City Chic rocks with a different type of sizing, I find myself in their small, which equals a size 16-ish.

Three: The Length

I am a sucker for a great midi length. For me, I find it both feminine, polished, sleek, and perfect for my frame. I love where the dress hits, allowing me the chance to play up the legs, work with my proportions and shape, and help me out in the hip area (where I find myself lacking). This silhouette gives me confidence to take on the day, and I am always here for a garment that makes me FEEL amazing.

Four: The Versatility

I am a firm believer of being able to wear one item, more than a few ways and to more than a few places. If I find myself stuck with only one way to have fun in an item, I likely do not rock it or give it away as soon as I can. But this dress? It is timeless and seasonless! Woot!

To pull the whole look together, I paired this dress with my Vince Camuto Heels and little black purse! I do shock myself being able to rock such a small bag… yes, I do use it beyond pictures! If I could find a slimmer wallet, we would be cooking with grease! BUT, adding a leather moto to top it all off and I have found myself with my uniform/ favorite fall back look.

If you are digging my dress, you can score it here at

If this dress is not your style, then…

Check out a few of the other fly plus size dress options I found from City Chic at Macys!

See why I am a fan of the brand? Even better? Not only is City Chic carried online, but you will find more than a few fun options in store, too (depending on your location). I know that I can always find more than a few options in store at the Lenox Mall, in Atlanta!

What do you think of my look and how I pulled it all together? Did you catch a few of my reasons why? Do you ask yourself similar questions? Do you find yourself perusing Macys for your next outfit?

Let’s discuss!

Special thank you to Howell Designs for the photos!

  1. Beautiful pictures! Love your city chic look! Are you wearing a shaper as well? I always wear my spring dresses with a nice shaper for a better figure. Mine comes from HookedUp Shapewear :).
