I first stumbled upon this designer at Full Figured Fashion Week a few years back. So when I got a little gem in my email announcing their latest spring collection, I was quite curious! For spring 2014, contemporary plus size designer label, Lavender’s Jungle is back and introducing us to their Sea Breeze Collection! I already have a few favorites that I could see stealing the show this season.
The designer behind the collection, La Krisha Joseph-Baker, introduces her 2014 spring collection, paying homage to her love for the ocean. The Sea Breeze collection debuted in Houston at “K” for Kurves, showcasing a collection specifically “for the mature woman” that is feminine and fun. I am thinking grown and sexy is where this falls, and I am here for it.
Lavender’s Jungle Spring Collection Look Book
“I usually like a rough edge somewhere in my collection and this collection is void of all of that… It took me sometime to create this collection because my natural design technique is not feminine and naturally I wanted to suppress the direction I was going in, eventually I succumbed to it and Sea Breeze was born.”
I love her restraint and the sophistication of this collection. While I am often enamored by her use of prints of past collections, this one, I do really dig and the pieces shown are my favorites from this range. I can easily see myself in a few items of this collection being worn a few ways…
Some of the pieces that I did not highlight in the slideshow include this cream/white skirt. I love the way this falls and I can see this living in the closet for seasons to come. I love that it has pockets too! BUT, this top? The coral and white peplum number? I can see this easily going from day to night, JUST like the designer intended it to. Then this blue combo. I am not sure if I love them together, BUT apart, I could see them making its way into my closet.
