Meet Plus Size Fashion Blogger, Sierra of Eclectic Kurves!!!
Blog: Eclectic Kurves
Location: Carmel, IN
How long have you been blogging? 8 months
What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I’ve always had a passion for fashion and writing. It seemed natural to want to bring them together.
Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
I blog part time, and it started out just for fun…now I have readers from all over the world that are responding to the blog in a positive way. Eclectic Kurves is all about body positivity and I feel lucky to be influencing that message through my blog.
What is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
My favorite asset is definitely my legs! I love dresses, skirts and skinny jeans. Anytime I put on my heels, I know my legs are showing out baby!
What are the challenges, if any, you face regarding being plus size?
As a plus size woman, local selection of clothing can be an obstacle. Just in the last few years have we seen being over a size 14 accepted in mainstream fashion thanks to designers Monif C, Zelie for She, Eloquii and Lane Bryant to name a few 🙂
What’s your favorite thing about being plus size?
I love my curves. I embrace them. This body has given birth to 2 beautiful children. This body has weathered bullying and come out on top. I am every woman…perfectly imperfect.
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
Besides the fashion!!! I love being a part of this body positive message. I’m immersed in a community of like-minded supportive women that see me for me…and dig that.
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
Eloquii, Zelie for She, Lane Bryant, Asos Curve, River Island, Evans, Torrid, Monif C, and Joni Marie Ross.
Describe your personal style.
Eclectic. I wear what feels good and fits my mood. Some days that’s glam, other days it’s more casual… but always with a little flair.
Which bloggers inspire you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Yes! I cannot get enough of Luciana for Lu zieht an. I also love Girl With Curves and GabiFresh.
What do you think about where plus size fashion is today versus a few years back?
We have come a long way…but there is still work to be done. I am happy to see so many models that have thighs with a little jiggle, but we still need models who represent all sizes… even in plus. Plus is not just a size 14/16.
What do you think or hear from readers, is one of the biggest myths about plus size fashion?
That there aren’t any clothes out there for them. That’s why the blogs are so important. We are showing women everywhere that you don’t have to sacrifice style because you have curves. Yes, curves and style can co-exist!
Are you working on anything or have anything to share? Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
More to come! I’ll be writing for LoveU Magazine, an up-and-coming body-positive magazine. Watch for me! In the meantime, find me on Instagram @eclectickurves, on twitter @EclecticKurves, and find me on Pinterest @eclectickurves!
Lastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
