With the plus community constantly growing, I can’t help but notice a particular body type being underrepresented. A lot of us have turned towards online shopping to practice social distancing and safety during the pandemic. Unfortunately, the problem is that there are a lot of brands missing the mark when it comes to showcasing plus size apple shaped models.

WE KNOW that YOU want to see someone that looks like you in media, with brands, and on social.

You see, the plus size realm has been flourishing so much lately. There has been an influx of luxury lines for plus bodies. Various clothing brands are expanding their sizes online and plus sizes in stores. Even lingerie brands are being more inclusive and creating collections with us in mind.

"Double take. Grateful for brands like @eloquii for giving us curvy gals more and more gorgeous plus size options. These pants are EVERYTHING for fall. Plus, satin makes your outfit look so classy and chic.."

What Makes YOU a Plus Size Apple Shape?

Well, according to Stitch Fix, here are a few things to check out or know:

“Apple and inverted triangle shapes look best when playing up their full bust, their amazing legs and/or their arms. In general, silhouettes that don’t rely on a traditionally structured waistline are your hardest working pieces.”

What Gives You an Apple Shape?

  • You are generally well-proportioned
  • Your shoulders are broader than your hips
  • You are not necessarily as curvy through your hips
  • You don’t have a well-defined waistline (If you do, you’re likely an hourglass!)

If You Have a Plus Size Apple Shape Know This…

NOTHING is wrong with your body. Every single one of us deserves to be seen, acknowledged, and appreciated. We have kicked off this series to show off YOUR style & shape, to bring representation where the brands and media won’t.

While you will not catch us telling you “what to wear for your shape,” we will share style & shopping tips to help you navigate the plus size fashion space with confidence and flair.

Which influencer’s look was your favorite?

We are curious… What is your body type?

Do you feel like your body type is adequately represented in the fashion industry?

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for- something that promotes self-love of my apple shape. I’m not bashing other body types, I’m just soooo ready to see someone who looks like me and see how certain fashions look on MY body type. This article is entirely too helpful. Thanks y’all!

ALL the love for this! I mean, any plus size model or blogger is more affirming than none, but it’s even BETTER to find people with shapes so close to mine who are killing it!
