Meet Megan of Curves, Curls, and Clothes
Name: Megan Hillard
Age: 31
Site: Curves, Curls, and Clothes
Location: Huntsville, AL
How long have you been blogging?
7+ years
What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I wanted to connect with other plus women and I wanted them to LOVE their bodies and step out of their comfort zone when it comes to fashion!
Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
I have a 9 to 5 but hope to be blogging full time in the next 2 years.
What is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
My booty! I have a lot of junk in the trunk and I love wearing bodycon dresses and jeans to enhance the curves!
What are the challenges, if any, you face in being (petite/tall) and plus-size?
I am on the shorter side and finding short denim can be a challenge. I have to cuff a lot of jeans, but on the bright side capri lengths are ankle cuts on me!
What’s your favorite thing about being (petite/tall) and plus-size? (if not petite or tall – under 5’4″ or over 5’8″, please just answer from plus-size perspective)
I love being plus size, I love my curves and being short used to bother me when I was modeling and everyone was sooo much taller than me, but I then realized that modeling wasn’t my thing. I wanted to wear what I wanted to, not what a designer or brand put on me. After that, I embraced being short and love it!
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger? A (petite/tall) plus fashion blogger?
Inspiring women to embrace their bodies and wearing things that society told them not to! Wear whatever you want!
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
Christian Siriano, City Chic, Fashion to Figure, Boohoo
Describe your personal style.
Depends on the day! I switch up my style all the time, from street style to glam, to edgy, to classic all in the same week.
Which blogger inspires you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Marie Denee inspires me on the daily! She is goals! Also, Ready to Stare,
Eclectic Kurves, Natalie Craig, Sabrina Servance and SometimesGlam to name just a few!
What do you think about here plus size fashion is today, versus a few years back?
I think we have MANY more options and prices points now that we did not have a few years ago. Brands have expanded their sizes and it is great! Now we just need more real plus size body representation in the media!
What do you think or hear from readers, is one of the biggest myths about plus size fashion?
That their are rules for what you should wear based on fruits! These apple, pear, body shapes that get thrown around all the time. I say if you feel good in it wear it, you are not a fruit!
Lastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
It means owning your curves, being confident in yourself and your worth and keeping it classy while being a boss babe!
We told she was a babe! You can learn more about Megan at Curves, Curls and Clothes.com!
You can also catch her on Youtube and Instagram.
