Listen, I have very fine eyebrows… scratch that. I USED to have very fine eyebrows! It was frustrating… for as long as I can remember, I always had to pencil them in! I look at my mother, and oftentimes joke with her that I inherited her non-having eyebrows.
Thanks mom! Hehehehe
Yet, I have to wax my upper lip, chin, and basically my whole body… How does this happen? I haven’t the clue… so when I started hearing about this micoblading thing, I had to do my research and see what this was all about. I was already somewhat familiar with the process, but I had to know more!
You see, I must have spent months digging in Instagram, under the #microblading hashtag. I have tried all the brow fillers from Anastasia Beverly Hills to Revitabrow, to no real avail. I even tried to new WonderBrow, that was a temporary daily fix, but something more permanent? I knew that Microblading was the only option for me. And after I had a few homies of color do it? Yes, this was it.
So, when I found Heidi Carney, I knew that SHE was going to be the one who would give me my LIFE BACK! Being a woman of color, I was curious and on the fence, until I saw various pages of her work with other women of color, their healing process, and their before and after photos! I mean, all of her work was beyond AMAZE!

Which led me to finding her, stalking her and her work, and finally reaching out! And in true TCF Style, I did a video and took you along with me and this process! Are you ready?
New Video! Brow Game on Point- Thanks to Microblading!
I cannot tell you how humbling and shocking this process was! I literally was left speechless. Afterwards, I was confused, dumbfounded, and in awe. Even now, I will look at myself in the mirror and be like whoa!
First off, Heidi and the Dr. John Connors team was soooo awesome and accommodating! Like, I felt in such great care. I had no wavering of nerves or fears. I was ready to get my life. After doing as much research as I could, scouring the Dr. John Connors website and talking with both Heidi and the office team, I was ready!
Painful?
Um, yes. But on a scale of 1 to my first Bikini Wax (10)? This was probably a 6 or 7ish!
So for the first two weeks, I cannot get my brows wet, adhering to Heidi’s rules for dry healing! So this means careful showering and washing of the face (I used my Yes to Carrots wipes). In about four weeks, I will return to see Heidi at Dr. John Connors for touch ups, additional fill in as needed, and any additional care, if need be!
And for my healing process? I am healing quite nicely!
Now depending on how I care for my new brows, they should last me at least a good 18 months (give or take to fading and my usage of sunscreen) and I already know that I will be back in the future!
! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH HEIDI! You so fricken rock my socks!

I love it. I have brows for the whole world lol I don’t touch them I have so many skin allergies I just leave my face as is. But I love seeing this on others. Watever makes you happy boo it’s all good.
Hi Marie,
Your enthusiasm is contagious!
I have nothing against microblading artists. I used to be one but quit after seeing the damage it causes. Thankfully, there is another way to get permanent brows using a cosmetic tattoo machine. Is that something you’ve heard about?
