Looking for plus size wear to work options? Studio by Torrid is the new collection delivering comfort, fashion and professional style, up through a size 30.
You know, you got to give to Jibri. With each collection, this Atlanta based plus size designer always brings a pointed fashion direction, intentional design, and a photo shoot that inspires and invokes emotion. The Jibri Fall collection gave us some serious 70s school girl realness and for the holiday collection, Jibri takes a step into the Rock and Roll side of life and fashion and I am here for all of it. No stranger to the blog, we always share the latest from Jasmine and recently interviewed Jasmine about Jibri, her collection, the impetus, inspiration, and her design aesthetic!
Nice & Rough
You know, every now and then
I think you might like to hear something from us
Nice and easy
But there’s just one thing
You see we never ever do nothing
Nice & easy
We always do it Nice & Rough
Now if you know Jibri, she always takes a retro inspiration for her collection and then adds a bit of an edge and for this Nice & Rough collection (I am calling it this), Jasmine takes us back to the late 70s and early 80s for this one! But let me share with you, the latest pieces from her collection that launches later today!
Each collection calls out to a specific type of woman- one who is bold, unapologetic, sassy, and refined- something that has me hyped to share with you the latest from this designer! Are you ready to get into this collection?
Your EXCLUSIVE First Look at Jibri Holiday 2015
How much fun is this! So good right? I need the red dress. And that deconstructed sequins skirt? Ohhhh! Looks like so much fun! But I so need this white leather top. BAD. I have a white perforated leather jacket, but this top? Honey it is everything. (Does a little shoulder bop in excitement)
But, instead of me trying to explain inspiration, let me share with you what Jasmine had to share about the Jibri Holiday 2015 Collection:
My inspiration stayed close to the retro zone of the late 70’s early 80’s but moved more towards the party scene of those eras. I worked with some mind blowing textures that melted into my signature silhouettes. Deconstructed sequin, perforated faux leather, super fluid silks, graphic printed satin, embroidered metallic sheer, textured, hand embossed & metallic spun wool… each fabric more interesting than the last.
The woman I saw while designing this collection makes the DJ at the company party abandon his approved playlist. She commands attention without effort. She’s Sinatra and Cobain. She’s Bocelli & Beyoncé. She’s Adele & Jeezy. She’s homemade cookies & vodka. She’s on the naughty & nice list. You might want to move to the right a little. She’s about to dance… unless, SHE is YOU! 🙂 Cheers to all the women who celebrate life and dress for the party!
You can shop the collection later TODAY and see more at JibriOnline.com!
Yes ma’am! I hear Klimaxx in my head with “Let the music play…” while looking at these clothes! Hehehehe, do you remember Klimaxx? Men All Pause. Meeting in the Ladies Room?
