Standing outside of The Highline Stages in the meatpacking district awaiting the spring 2012 installation for Cut 25 was actually quite fun. Although I did not know what to expect- especially as I have never been to this area of the city, I was kind of excited to meet and chat up Man Repeller and her ferocity.
Cut 25, a newly launched concept by Yigal Azrouel in 2010, is definitely one of the brands that I die for in plus size. Bold colors, innovative shapes, playful silhouettes, and a unique point of view- Cut 25 definitely captured my attention- as the sporty chic aesthetic of this collection had my eyes aflutter.
More officially, The Cut25 Spring 2012 Collection is reminiscent of the 80s surf culture, which is conveyed in the electric colors, techno-washed fabrics and multi-dimensional layering. Compositions incorporate acid pastels and cool neutrals, experimenting with the juxtaposition of minimal and clean lines and voluminous and airy forms.
