Itโs the most wonderful time of the year- Full Figured Fashion Week & various plus size events!ย Once a year in June, members of the plus size community get together to show up and show out. Every day, for a week the various events held throughout the city bring masses of beautiful plus size women together to share in the latest trends and whatโs to come. I attended at least one to two events a day, and I was not disappointed. To the retailers out there that say that there is no real market for plus size, check out all these fabulous women from my travels, and then come up with another reason as to why you wonโt do plus size fashion!
Redefining Healthy Panelย
All too often the plus size community is judged based on what we look like. For all the compliments we receive from one another, there are otherโs that question your health just because you so not fit an โacceptableโ weight. Suits, Heels, and Curves wanted to create an event to bring all women together to talk about confidence, health, and just starting the dialogue that health is not determined on how you look. It was an amazing event, we danced, laughed, and cried. Canโt wait for next year. Below are some of the lovely panelists and attendees.
Marla Wynne Showroom Invite
I received an invitation to attend the Marla Wynne showroom to check out her latest collection. If you have not heard of her, she was a tv producer turned designer. Her collection is currently available on HSN, and she believes in Fashion For All. Her collection goes up to a size 24, and I must say her pants fit amazing!!

Avenue Blogger Brunch
The Avenue alongside Marcy Cruz (PMM Blog Editor and the creator of Fearlessly Just Me) hosted an event, filled with fabulous ladies, food and their upcoming summer collections. This brand has definitely stepped up to offer styles that everyone can enjoy. I canโt wait for all the new arrivals!
Celebrate My Size Expo
Amazing vendors, pictures, and lovely ladies- a definite must attend. Itโs not very often one can get a chance to chat with new as well as established brands, so when there is a chance to do so, Iโm on it. Also, I got a chance to try some Bandelettes!! Ladies, definitely get you a pair this summer, your thighs will thank you.
Lord & Taylor Fashion Preview
FFF & Lord and Taylor teamed up to showcase how to dress the plus size woman from head to toe- day to night. It featured the latest looks from Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Nola Active, Jessica Simpson, Melissa McCarthy, and the list goes on. The plus size floor at their flagship located in Midtown has all the brands you can ever want, and they have stylists to help you curate a look for a special night or if you are looking to revamp your closet. Besides the great fashion worn by the models, there were some fashionistas in the audience.
Blogging has me in front of the camera, but it was great to take the focus off myself and take pictures of amazing women. I had a blast last week, and definitely looking forward to next year.
