Hey Girl Hey! Quite a few of you email, inbox, or post questions about becoming a plus size model on our Facebook page and today, I am excited to share with you a way that you can get your foot in the door! Today, we are so excited to share with you the details of the FFFWeek Casting Tour (that ALSO stops in Atlanta)! You would think that I was auditioning the way I get hype about this casting, LOL! We just believe in the event and the opportunity that it provides.
By now all of us know that this is the time of year when the FFFWeek casting team rack up loads of frequent flyer miles. They travel from state to state (and Canada) in search of women that can rip the runway while representing the brand and the plus size community. Honestly, the tour has become just as renowned as the event because of the excitement that it conjures up. In my opinion it is the prelude to the kiss (the kiss being the show of course).
So what are the deets and the dates? Let me break it down to you!
The 2016 FFFWeek Casting Tour Dates:
- Los Angeles: January 16th
- Atlanta: January 30th
- Tampa: February 6th
- Dallas: February 27h
- Toronto: March 5th
- New York: March 12th
Make sure you visit FFFWeek.com to view casting requirements, our FAQs and to download the model application and release form (which should be completed and brought to the casting, along with your photos).
With the first casting taking place this Saturday in Los Angeles, Gwen DeVoe was kind enough to share a few tips for all of you ladies that plan to audition. Of course, I am going to share…
FFFWeek Model Casting Tips
- No selfies! This is a professional event and the team wants to work with professional women or at least those who are serious about their craft. I don’t think that a selfie say professional or serious. Make sure that your headshots and comp cards are ready!
- Wear proper shoes! Make sure that you are capable of walking in the shoes that you choose to wear (I wouldn’t suggest new shoes). Keep in mind that boots and booties are not allowed at all. The prefered shoes are pumps.
- Cover your tattoos! If you have visible tattoos please cover them and be prepared to cover them if you are booked for the gig. FFFWeek is about highlighting the clothing of designers and boutiques and tattoos can take attention away from that.
In addition to these tips, please make sure you visit FFFWeek.com to assure that you are clear on the requirements. There is also a application on the site that must be printed and presented at the time of the audition.
And For Atlanta?
The Curvy Fashionista is Sponsoring and Hosting the Atlanta FFFWeek Casting with a fun twist!
With all of the details set, I can officially tell you that the Atlanta casting will be held at the B Loft on January 30, doors will open at 12:00, a special mixer and panel will kickoff at 1pm and the casting will begin at 2:30 and end at 4:30 p.m. Please be advised that the line will close at 4 p.m, which means you need to get there early because I am almost sure the Executive Producer, Gwen DeVoe and Sharon Quinn, the Original Runway Diva, will not be making any exceptions.
For questions, more details, and everything in between, please make sure you visit fffweek.com for everything!
Now that you have all of the deets, get a little practice in so that you can WERK! Good luck and I will see you during the FFFWeek casting tour!
