COOL NEWS: The Ms Full Figured HBCU Pageant (and you can apply NOW)

When I heard of this pageant created by Tonya Giddens, immediately I thought that this program and event would be cool and I had to share. Created to be a “springboard to nurture and empower young plus size women at Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” anything that empowers I am here for!

SO let me share with you more information about The Ms Full Figured HBCU Pageant:

The Ms Full Figured HBCU Pageant

“The mission of The Ms Full Figured HBCU Pageant™ is to progressively nurture exceptional catalysts for change for plus size women attending historically Black colleges and universities by empowering them to embrace their physical attributes, reaffirm their self-worth, and impact their communities.”

With its debut event for March 2014, Tonya’s goal is to fashion the Ms. Full Figured HBCU Pageant™ as the premiere plus size pageant for college women attending HBCUs.  What a cool opportunity to be recognized for your accomplishments and earn scholarship money to complete YOUR education!

So what does this mean for you?

Well, if you are a plus size student currently attending an HBCU, you have the chance to win scholarship money and prizes spread the word! This month, applications are now being accepted on the website!

What are the prizes?

The prizes are still being gathered, so expect much more to be added to this list, BUT, here you go:

1st Place (WINNER)

  • $1,000 Cash
  • $1,000 Scholarship Award
  • Crown
  • Sash

2nd Place (1st Runner Up)

  • $500 Cash
  • $500 Scholarship Award
  • Sash

3rd Place (2nd Runner Up)

  • $250 Cash
  • $250 Scholarship Award
  • Sash
