At The Curvy Fashionista, we’re always excited to introduce voices that are shifting the narrative and pushing boundaries in plus size fashion. Today, we’re spotlighting someone who is doing just that… Charlotte Jackson, founder of The Curve Authority.
Charlotte is more than a model and style muse, she’s a powerful advocate for visibility, self-love, and elevated fashion for plus size and mature women. Her story is one of resilience, vision, and bold reclamation. In this essay, she opens up about her journey, her mission, and why it’s time for curves to claim their rightful space on runways, in couture, and at the center of the fashion conversation.
Read on as Charlotte invites us all to own our curves and our crowns.
Redefining Beauty on My Own Terms

For too long, curves were whispered about, hidden, or labeled as “too much.” Growing up, I often felt like beauty had one size, one shape, one standard and it definitely did not look like me.
But I’ve learned something powerful: my curves are not too much. They’re just enough. And they’re worthy of celebration.
Today, I stand not just as a model, but as a woman who embraces every inch of who she is. More importantly, I stand for the women who look like me… the ones who were told their bodies didn’t belong in the room. I’m here to say: we belong, we are worthy, and we are stunning.
From Rejection to Redirection

My path into fashion didn’t start on a runway or inside a glossy magazine spread. It began with a desire to see myself reflected, to know that someone like me could be celebrated.
As a curvy and mature woman entering an industry that glorifies youth and thinness, I faced plenty of closed doors. Doubt often showed up before I even introduced myself. But rejection didn’t define me, it refined me.
There were moments I questioned if there was space for someone like me. But every time that doubt crept in, I thought about the women watching quietly, whispering to themselves, “If she can do it, maybe I can too.” That thought became my motivation.
I stopped waiting for permission. I created my own lane. And out of that decision, The Curve Authority was born.
The Movement Behind The Curve Authority
The Curve Authority is more than fashion, it’s a movement. One that celebrates curves, confidence, and the beauty of experience.
It’s a voice for women of size, and for mature women, especially those 50 and beyond. Society often tries to dim our light after a certain age, but we know better: our shine does not expire.

At The Curve Authority, we’re building a bridge between the plus size consumer and the luxury fashion world. We’re here to awaken the long-overdue partnership between luxury brands and plus size women.
Our mantra is simple: We See You. We Style You. We Crown You.
We’re shifting the standard. Fashion should be inclusive, diverse, and rooted in reality, not fantasy. This isn’t about shrinking to fit a mold. It’s about expanding the mold to fit all of us.
When women step into this movement, they’re reclaiming their confidence. They’re choosing visibility. They’re declaring that curves deserve couture, curves deserve runways, and curves deserve to lead.
Dressed to Be Seen
Too often, curvy women are told what not to wear… no stripes, no fitted dresses, no bold choices.
But I don’t believe in those rules.

Fashion isn’t about limitation. Fashion is about liberation.
When I get dressed, I’m not covering up. I’m expressing myself. I love bold colors, fitted silhouettes, and dramatic accessories, because every look is a declaration: I am here, and I deserve to be seen.
Fashion should serve women, not silence them. And the truth is, fashion isn’t size exclusive. It’s soul inclusive.
Your Crown Is Waiting
My mission is simple: to empower women to love who they are at every stage and every size.
To remind you… you are not too much. You’re more than enough.
It’s an honor to share my story with The Curvy Fashionista community, a platform that has always stood for representation and inclusivity.
I invite you to join me and The Curve Authority on this journey. Follow along, engage, and most importantly, embrace yourself fully.
Because curves don’t need permission to take up space.
They were designed to shine.
