There’s no place like the South and these southern plus size bloggers are ready to show us just that! Atlanta, one of our favorite southern gems, is one of the most happening cities in the USA. Besides being the HQ of The Curvy Fashionista and CNN, Atlanta boasts things like the Atlanta Beltline (22 miles of urban renewal, following railroad tracks!), the National Center of Civil and Human Rights and incredible restaurants and culture!
While we will be writing more about things to do in ATL as the TCF Style Expo, gets closer. In the meantime, let’s talk about some of our favorite plus size bloggers who call the south home!
14 Southern Plus Size Bloggers To Watch
Marie Denee

I mean, DUH! Naturally we had to kick off with Marie, one of the OG plus size southern bloggers. While she’s located in Atlanta now, Marie hails from the West Coast. Marie and her dog, Mocha, love being in Atlanta. When she’s not writing and building her empire, Marie can be found taking Mocha for a walk in downtown ATL or checking airfares for an international getaway.
Crystal Daniels

Crystal is the founder of Society of Harlow, and blogs about music, fashion and fitness. This Atlanta-based blogger rocks bold and bright patterns.
Hailing from PA, Crystal said this about living in Atlanta, “Atlanta is bold, vibrant, historic, and revolutionary! From the civil rights movement to southern hip hop, Atlanta is the home of groundbreaking talent and movements. What I love most about Atlanta is its unapologetic display of how multifaceted and diverse the city and its people can be. For example, one day you can do yoga while listening to trap music in the park and the next marching down Peachtree protesting a social injustice. Atlanta is filled with movers, shakers, dreamers, and doers, you don’t have to fit into one mold from fashion, music, art, and lifestyle!”
Alex Sundstrom

Nikki Free Style

I’m a little obsessed with Nikki’s branding! She describes herself as “The Stylish Life & Times of a Slightly Bougie Black Girl,” and she calls Atlanta home! NikkiFree Style really shows different styles for different times of the week. From brunch looks to office and business wear, she’s got it all!
Nikki loves Atlanta, saying, “Atlanta is the center of Black culture and success in America, and the #1 reason I love living here. In 1971, Ebony Magazine declared Atlanta as the “Black Mecca of the South,” and that has been true ever since. African-American success in business, entertainment and politics is evident in Atlanta and I love being immersed in it all. From Bankhead to Buckhead, you can see the amazing influence Black culture has had on this great city, and the cost of living is still very affordable as well.”
