I love that the plus size woman is getting more love on TV in various ways. Fashion, life, love, you name it, it is starting to pop up everywhere! First we had Big Sexy, then Curvy Girls, and now, we have a new series coming to WeTV, House of Curves.
House of Curves follows the colorful life and family of Kenyatta Jones, the Atlanta-based designer and CEO of Bella Rene Clothing! Premiering Thursday, June 13 at 10 PM ET/PT with six one hour-long episodes, we get a peek inside the life of a plus size designer, her trials and tribulations of launching her line, and the team to help her get there!
Established in September 2007, Bella Rene’ is named after Kenyatta’s mother Karen Rene’. Not happy with her options (as most plus size women tend to be), she started her company to fill a need in the contemporary plus size market.
NOW, a show isn’t a show without a little bit of drama, and from the looks of the trailer, Kenyatta and her team have quite the “loving” relationship. With her two best friends from college, an assistant with an attitude and her mother as her main investor, Kenyatta has her hands full launching this brand into a household name…
Take a peek at the House of Curves Trailer:
In the premiere episode titled “Full Fashion Frenzy,” Kenyatta and her team prepare for Bella René’s Spring Fashion Show. Kendra, creative director for Bella René, and Sherlynda, seamstress and former creative director for Bella René, try to outdo each other as they vie to be Kenyatta’s number two.
When the right buyers don’t show up at the fashion show, Kenyatta makes a power move to get Bella René back on track.
You can watch the show on WeTV, debuting June 13th at 10pm! Check out WeTV for more information and visit Bella Rene to learn more about the brand!
