Tabria Majors Returns to Torrid’s Casting Call... and She’s Got Something to Say

When Tabria Majors walks into a room, you feel it. Whether she’s commanding a photo shoot, breaking the internet with her iconic “Beylloween” visuals, or hyping up aspiring models on the dance floor at a Torrid Casting Call, Tabria doesn’t just show up… she shows out.

Over the years, Tabria has redefined what it means to be a plus size model with range. From her viral Halloween recreations of Beyoncé’s most iconic performances to fronting campaigns for major brands like Fashion to Figure and Savage X Fenty, she’s carved out a lane that didn’t always exist and now she’s using her platform to make sure others can walk through it.

In this exclusive interview with The Curvy Fashionista, Tabria opens up about the full-circle moment of returning to Torrid, the brand that helped jumpstart her career, and how the Torrid Casting Call has become more than just a model search. It’s a movement.

“I was discovered through a casting call,” she shared with TCF. “So, being a part of this? It’s near and dear to my heart.”

Now, years into a career that’s helped reshape how we see plus size fashion, Tabria Majors is circling back, not just as a model or influencer, but as a mentor and beacon for the next wave of talent.

The Torrid Casting Call: More Than a Moment

For many plus size women, the Torrid Casting Call is their first real taste of fashion that sees them, welcomes them, and celebrates their stories. It’s not just a competition, it’s a platform. And for Tabria, it’s a full-circle moment.

“This year’s casting call is different. It’s diverse in every way… age, body type, background. That kind of representation is powerful,” she said. “Especially now, when the pendulum feels like it’s swinging backwards, it matters more than ever that plus size people are centered, not sidelined.”

Tabria’s been part of several Torrid campaigns, but the casting call holds special weight. “You can feel the energy. It wasn’t just about who’s walking the runway, it was about community. We danced, we talked, we hyped each other up. It felt like a celebration of who we are.”

And let’s be clear: Tabria sees the power in simply showing up.

“Even if you don’t win, the fact that you came, that you stood in line, that you got in front of the camera, that’s huge,” she said. “Just taking up space with confidence is political. You’re making an impact without saying a word.”

From Torrid Shopper to Brand Partner

For Tabria, the relationship with Torrid didn’t start on set. It started where it starts for so many of us…  in the fitting room.

“Torrid was one of the only places I could actually try on clothes in-store,” she said. “It’s not just a place to shop. It’s emotional. It’s a core memory for a lot of plus size women.”

Over the years, that personal connection turned into partnership. Today, she’s not just a familiar face in their campaigns, she’s a trusted voice in their community-building efforts. And the casting call? It’s an extension of that mission.

“I love that Torrid isn’t just picking one winner. They’re choosing five. And they’re being intentional about who they pick: different sizes, different stories, different generations,” Tabria said. “It sends a message that all of us deserve to be seen.”

Tabria Majors on a New Chapter and a New Role

Now a mom, Tabria Majors speaks candidly about how motherhood has shifted her relationship with confidence and identity.

“I’m just now starting to feel like myself again,” she said. “Postpartum was rough; there were days I didn’t feel comfortable in my body. But having a daughter changed everything. I want her to grow up confident. I want her to see me using my voice.”

That vulnerability makes her role in the casting call even more impactful. She’s not just showing up as a model, she’s showing up as a whole woman. And she wants the finalists to do the same.

“My advice to anyone stepping in front of that camera? Be yourself. Don’t try to perform. Just show up as you,” she said. “That’s what got you here, and that’s what will take you further.”

The Future Tabria’s Rooting For

Tabria is quick to acknowledge the privilege of her platform and she’s equally quick to redirect that spotlight to others.

“I have the ‘aspirational’ body type, and I know that,” she said. “But we need more visibility for bigger bodies, for darker skin, for all of us. I want to keep using my platform to make sure the door stays open… wider.”

“I hope it inspires other brands to do the same… to create space, not just campaigns,” she said. “What Torrid is doing, putting plus size people at the forefront, is more important now than ever.”

Why This Matters

At its core, the Torrid Casting Call is about possibility; the kind that feels real when you see someone like Tabria Majors standing in front of you, saying, “Yes, you belong here.”

She’s walked that path. And now, she’s helping light the way for others.
