Atlanta’s plus size community gathered to celebrate women whose work, dedication, and passion has inspired and motivated others at the 4th annual PHAT Girl Fresh Presents: Lifestyled Awards. The brainchild of Maui Bigelow, is no stranger to The Curvy Fashionista. So when I saw that this annual event was coming back around, having been a prior honoree, I knew that I had to support the founder of PHAT Girl Fresh!
Each year, Maui chooses to honor 6 women, whose work has touched her- “all women who have committed themselves to doing the work of empowered women by styling their lives in a way that empowers other women.” So over the weekend of April 29th, Maui chose to honor Shaina Harrison of Out of the Closet, Falon Bonner, Jasmine Elder of Jibri, Madeline Figueroa Jones of Plus Model Magazine, Chasity Valentine of Garner Style, and Molly Hopkins of Livi Rae Lingerie!

If you missed this event, you missed out! The energy was high, the love was felt throughout the room, it truly was a time to celebrate and to lift each other up!
Held at 595 North, the perfect venue for the event, it was a packed house! Hosted by the hilarious Comedian Starr Carter, guests were entertained at every turn, including the effervescent Tisa Edge, who covered the red carpet for us! From fashion shows (including a crowd pleasing Big & Tall men show) to a special performance by Poetess Grande Beauty, the guests were thoroughly entertained! I know that we were!
Not only was there fashion shows and entertainment, there were vendors who made sure we kept it all the way cute, from ORS hair, My MiiMii, Cute as a Button, Maria Paulina, and Renee Olivia!
The two-day event was sponsored by ChafeZone For ChubRub, Kim McCarter, Nikki Free Style, us over here at The Curvy Fashionista!
