First Look: Christian Siriano’s Spring 2018 Bridal Collection & Includes PLUS SIZES!

Perhaps at this moment you are at some stage of the wedding planning process. From just getting a few bridal magazines and searching the web, to being a full-blown Bridezilla complete with color coordinated wedding planner. There are huge decisions involved. Sure the venue is important, the flowers have to be just right, and of course there’s the whole DJ versus Live Band debate. But we all know what the most important decision you will make is… The wedding dress, of course!

And if you really want a dress that will stun your spouse when walking down the aisle, Christian Siriano just made your dreams come true with his second bridal collection: 12 dresses that represent every bride regardless of size.  All of the dresses in the collection go up to a size 26, y’all! You read that right… A size 26. And even the campaign imagery is inclusive, with a curvy bride being prominently featured! This is huge and radical news in the fashion world, but for Christian himself, the choice was simple.

“I think it was just pretty easy, a no-brainer for us. It just made sense. I think it’s important that all the dresses, everything we’re offering, can come in any size. That’s an important thing. I think if we start to make it the norm, that these women exist, then things will change. Once people start to see it, it really helps others realize who these women are, and that they want nothing different than a woman who is a size 0.”

Christian makes it clear that designing a wedding gown that is attractive for a women sized 2 or 22 isn’t that daunting of an experience.

“I like to tell people that the process is different. There’s different challenges, but it’s not necessarily more difficult. The dresses in our collection, everything’s the same. We just work on where the darts go, what the fabric is. I think about that a lot more in the beginning of the process, thinking of what kind of fabrics could work on anyone.”

I applaud Christian Siriano for the strides he continually makes in creating a more inclusive and size-friendly portion of the fashion industry. His continued success is proof positive that it’s working!
