As we’re a curvy fashion enthusiast blog, we truly believe that representation matters. And that phrase is pertinent in every aspect, whether it’s gender, race, sexuality or ability. In a dope showcasing of representation, Jessica Milagros has become the first plus size model to land a national campaign with leading retailer JCPenney!
As we get ready for the summer and brands start to drop their plus size swimwear looks, we had to share with you the newest brand to dip their toe in swim!!
That very campaign is JCPenney’s plus size private label brand, Boutique+, which has expanded to include plus size swimwear that fits and flatters curvy silhouettes. Each piece is specially-engineered for sizes 1x-3x, featuring adjustable straps, molded cups and power mesh. That’s right… the collection is created with real love and attention!
Milagros celebrated the launch of the Boutique+ Swim collection with an event featuring a fun pool! Milagros was joined by a few other gorgeous models as they showed off the new and uniquely sexy styles.
I’m loving the different shapes and colors. Like the turquoise number with the criss-cross design or the asymmetrical black two-piece with the colorful accents. What I’m really diggin’ — and what I like about any swimwear line — is that there is truly a variety of looks so that every potential consumer will find something that they’re comfortable with.
Whether you’re into two-pieces, or tankinis, or bodysuits or cover-ups… you’ll find something you like!
Oh! Additional styles will be rolling out in April, so look out for that! Right now, the price range is roughly $22-$76, so it’s super affordable! Right?

So ladies, now that these plus size brands and retailers are starting to release their new swim collections tell us which ones are your favorite? Soooooo, which pieces do you love? Which ones have your name all over it?
I do appreciate the pieces that they launched with and am really excited about always more options to play with and in!
I’ve avoided swimsuit shopping for I can’t even tell you how long at this point .
Last year I ordered one online and it was too small, and I would have tried the next size but the stupid website I ordered it from didn’t do exchanges. You had to return it, wait for the credit and then reorder it and that was enough difficulty to make me give up. I have the added challenge of being busty. And by that I mean a 44I so I don’t know if these will even accommodate me as plus sizes often don’t consider busty pluses with our own set of challenges. And I’m petite.
Have you ever tried a Swim Bra? To assist with the support? elomi has one and we will be doing a roundup of them soon!
I hear you. These suits are cute but I gave up when I got to “molded cups” which DO NOT WORK for my 42FF bust. I need UNDERWIRES, adjustable straps and bra sizing. I recently bought a bunch of new swimsuits online for an upcoming vacation and can tell you that Elomi and Fantasie are now my swimsuit go-tos. I was so happy to find some that worked I bought 5 new suits!
