Target has pointed its “target” at the plus size consumer! Target recently announced the lookbooks for three out of more than twelve brands exclusively joining them via their corporate site. Two particular brands we have to shout-out is A New Day and Goodfellow & Co! What makes these brands special is their inclusion, whether it’s sizing or featuring people of color! The clothing brands feature plus size as well as big and tall sizes!!
The extra dope thing about the inclusion is that it’s seamless! There’s no separate section for plus sizes, it’s included in the standard size line!
A New Day is all about the versatile pieces to transform a fierce girl from work to play! Apparel and accessories line range in sizes 0-16 and XS-XXL, with some pieces extending to plus size, X-4X and 14W-26W in select stores and online. I’m eyeing that pleated skirt in yellow!
Goodfellow & Co is for the classic yet modern guy. Apparel and accessories come in standard, tall, big, and big and tall sizing. Additionally, extended size shoes will be launching in 2018. I’d definitely do a double-take if I saw a honey walking by in one of these pieces, like the shawl pocket cardigan!
“These brands are the perfect example of what makes Target ‘Tar-zhay.’ Each offers incredible design, great quality and truly unbeatable value. That’s something you can find only at Target,” said Target executive vice president and chief merchandising officer Mark Tritton in an official press release. “Since announcing these new brands, we’ve been blown away from the excitement we’ve seen from our guests. While they’ll have to wait a little longer to shop, now they can see what we’ve been working so hard on. And the best part — we’re just getting started.”
Target already serves as one of my sanctuaries, so I am all-aboard this fashion inclusive train!
A New Day and Goodfellow & Co will hit Target stores on August 27th. Check out the lookbooks for each brand here & here!
What do you think about these new brands? Any favorite pieces? Hurry up and take our money, Target!
its about time. I will be there on debut day to see how plus is represented. Out local Meijer did this in the spring and its fab. You can shop for the same items as you smaller shopping buddy.
Finally!!! ðð»ðð
Are they in stores or on-line only?
I was never a Target shopper ..might have to check it out
Don’t tell me this. Target is the spot now .
This collection is hot!!!
That would be nice. Not everyone who is plus sized is short! I’d like for my shirts to be longer than just my waist. No one wants to see that ish.

Oh look…clothes for people who are tall. How much more expensive will it be????
I can’t read the article it’s “unavailable”.
I am not big on Target anyway, but, sorry, I felt insulted by them for years because they did not cater to the plus size women. The stores by me may have a few pieces of clothes, but they are cut way too small and way too short. Only having seen how well tall and plus size goes over well and is getting attention, then they want to turn to the market.

I was in target today and they had a plus size mannequin right there next to the straight size mannequin. I thought that was pretty cool.
I was in target the other day and they just had a sign that said maternity and had the plus mixed in…. I was ok I guess I’m pregnant now
Same thing in my Target.
Hopefully more than just dark colors and floral. My Target sucks.
Not seeing this in my local Target. It continues to disappoint.
Unfortunately, our Target stores still puts plus in maternity section without labels or sign
Yeah…. no. 🙁
The plus sizes ARE separate – and not selling in stores. I went skipping into my local Target today (sep 11) excited to see these styles in person – nope. Nice big display in the already-huge regular size section. Plus section still the pathetic 3 racks of Avi&Viv BS- hate that crap! It’s not hard: we want to wear the same clothes. Just make them bigger, and let us buy them in person. Don’t you want our money???
