We are back with an uber exciting, breathtaking, and inspirational plus size art feature! Between submissions, recommendations, finding plus size art is becoming increasingly easier and if not, more available over the years! And today’s spotlight on this photographer’s latest project is one that has easily become one of my favorites amongst this series! Like, I can already see about five or six of these in my home. For serious! Metallic Curves, by photographer Silvana Denker, is one that you will never forget!
If you are not familiar with her work, this Germany based artist caught my attention with her Body Love Campaign, one that made a statement about body acceptance and body positivity. She continues this message, with her latest project, Metallic Curves, highlighting plus size women, sizes 12 up, in different and unique, sometimes acrobatic, poses.
“I show rolls and bellies and show the women as golden and silver sculptures. I did a big research on the internet and always found slim women doing those photoshoots so I wanted to show that also bigger women can look amazing.”
Even more inspirational? Her 52 year old mother also took part in this series!
Are you curious? Intrigued? Well keep scrolling!
I must add, some of these may not be suited for work!
Plus Size Art: Metallic Curves by Photographer Silvana Denker
Can we say striking?
Beautiful!
Mesmerizing?
Yes love! This series is all of this! I am curious how I would look, doing something like this, seeing the beauty of our rolls, curves, and silhouettes!
But, in order to make this vision a reality, make-up artist Ramona Geller and hair & make-up artist Ilka Mueller worked their magic with the body paint and styling!
My goal was to stage them as silver and golden sculptures, I wanted to create art and on the same time show the beautiful bodies of the women who took part. I made a post on Facebook and was surprised how many wanted to take part. It all was planned in only one day. So, I ordered the colors, booked the location and only two weeks later we took the photos in only one weekend. I´m very proud also my mom took part.
About Silvana Denker
Silvana Denker is a 32 year old artist, living in Germany, who has made it her mission to “fight against body shaming and bullying!” Using her projects and art, she shares her own story, fighting though her own eating disorder, bullying, and her own journey with learning to love herself.
Through modeling, she realized that “size doesn´t matter.” Along this journey, she found her passion and the desire to help others on their way to self-acceptance through the lens of her camera!
Her projects started with a calendar project (which she still produces), CUrVeveS in 2014. From there, Denker launched into her BodyLove Campaign after the reception of series she shot with people of different sizes, shapes, skin colors, and genders. With the response, she took her project to the streets and the BodyLove campaign was born. With its success, Denker played with the idea of a bodypainting project with gold and silver. Not finding any project with plus size women featured, Denker decided to make shoot her own!
How about that! Being inspired, making her own art, and delivering it in such an inspirational way!
You can learn more about her art and shop it at silvana-denker.com!

I know my first thought should be how beautiful but all i can think is how long is it going to take to get that stuff off she looks amazing love the silver but it is paint?? Or maybe im mistaken hehe my body would just soak stuff in
bwahahahahah hfair question!
Lol I thought the same…
Bathoil and a lot of Showers was needed to get rid of the paint. To answer your question. ð It was a special colour for bodypainting.

We are beautiful, amazing, and lovely to behold.
Breathtaking!
Amazing job
Amazing!!!
Why can’t fat people have underwear on atleast. I don’t wanna see no one naked even skinny people.. put some clothes on!!!
Hey there! Just curious…Why are you so upset about this shoot? This is an art feature, purposely shot like this, like statues in beautiful shapes?
It makes me mad that when people try to show plus size women being body positive they are naked…. I think that’s just too much. Why can’t they have a bikini on or something attractive to wear. Crop top and booty shorts… I didn’t find her golden ass flattering.
I think, my dear, you’re missing the entire point
I think they are gorgeous! they must be pretty confident to show their bodies in front of the camera! I loved it and I think that if they fore underwear or bikinis it would defeat the purpose of that shoot! Why can skinny people be pictured naked with nobody complaining and not curvy people?
Did you read my whole statement? What I said about skinny women…
They could have used a gold swimsuit
This is gorgeous!!! ððð
They are exquisite, bringing to mind various Goddess attributes.
Simply Beautiful
