By now, you have heard the news (Or if you haven’t- keep reading!) that Melissa McCarthy is working on a clothing line! However, over the weekend, more details emerged from this collection and what we can expect- and I am soooo curious and intrigued and I knew that I had to share this with you!
At the end of last year, Melissa shared that she is teaming up with clothing manufacturer, Sunrise Brands, to create an all size fashion line that will also include accessories and beauty! This collection is not JUST a plus size line, but a collection that will be for ALL of us- plus and straight. Go ahead Melissa for inclusion!
“I think women want to be able to dress for their mood,” McCarthy said. “My pieces mix and match, because some days we want to be rock ’n’ roll and some days we want to be more polished. I love that I’ll be able to chat with other women about fashion and see how they’re wearing my clothes.”
Now, if you didn’t know, the hilariously funny and witty plus size actress once had design aspirations to attend Fashion Institute of Technology before she even stepped foot into acting! So it is not just a random venture! And with Seven7, Melissa McCarthy will rework this collection, giving us a casual sportswear line and then a more contemporary collection next year! Hitting us with a fashionable one-two punch!
Before, we heard rumors, she would confirm, but NOW? We have a launch date and plan of attack! Not only will the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 collection hit department stores and specialty stores in the US, Canada, and the UK, her collection will also be available to shop online at MelissaMccarthy.com THIS AUGUST.
“And when you go above a size 12, you don’t lose your love of fashion” Melissa McCarthy to WWD.
I am sooo curious about her higher end contemporary collection- that has me intrigued and curious! But for this, we have to wait until fall 2016! Gahhh! This is going to be featured on her website too! Am here for all of this and from the news I hear, she is quite skilled and talented!
While I am not 100% sure on the full size range, her pieces will sit at moderate price points, including knit tops for $39 to $79, sweaters for $79 to $99 and bottoms for $59 to $118. The line is expected to offer “classic, high-end detailing, better fits and technology-driven denim fit solutions.”
“I’d been looking for two, three, maybe four years for manufacturers to help us do this line,” she said. “But after we met with Sunrise, we felt they were committed to changing the plus-size game.”
Now if Seven7 sounds familiar, that is because Lane Bryant carries the brand online and in store and at some retailers, like Macy’s, they carry the denim collection. Does this mean we can expect to see the plus size collections there? Hrmmm (strokes chin). It seems like I have some homework to do!
How exciting is this news? Are you hyped as I am? I am sooo curious about how she will freak the current line! I seriously think that this could be real good. I am bot optimistic and excited!
What about you? Are you hyped?
