I remember when I first met the team in LA and asked them about doing plus sizes almost three years ago… IN LOVE with this concept! I have long been a fan of Rent the Runway, a service that allows you to rent special occasion dresses, accessories, and jewels to make your special night AMAZE. But for the longest time, it wasn’t available in our sizes, UNTIL NOW!
Are you familiar with Rent the Runway?
Rent the Runway fashions designer dress and accessory rentals a convenient and accessible luxury experience for millions of women. With door-to-door delivery, a free second-size, and access to personal stylists, Rent the Runway is a service that enables women to look and feel their most confident for any occasion. At 90% off retail, RenttheRunway provides the Cinderella experience for women everywhere.
Last night, there was the launch event in New York, hosted by Nicolette Mason (sooo sad I had JUST missed this having to head back to Cali!) in which fellow plus size bloggers were instagramming pics of themselves in dresses and sharing their excitement of the collection. I was so happy and hyped and today, I am excited to share with you the offerings!
This launch of RTR Plus is quite impressive with over forty styles from five top designers available in sizes up to a size 22! This launch ties in Rent the Runway’s overall brand mission “to democratize luxury fashion for all women and to give every woman the self confidence that comes with looking and feeling your best.”
Our Runway, the one-of-a-kind social shopping platform showcasing every day women in the looks, demonstrates the company’s belief that all women – regardless of size, age or ethnicity – are beautiful, by prominently displaying these photos of real women on its site as models.
“When we launched Rent the Runway, we didn’t fully understand that our business was going to be about so much more than saving money, but rather, feeling empowered. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful before the most important occasions in her life and every woman regardless of her size should have her choice of the designer dress that gives her the most self-confidence,” said Jennifer Hyman, CEO and Co-Founder of Rent the Runway. “Until now, we have only been able to follow through on this undertaking for virtually half of the female population. We are so proud that our business has grown enough that we are finally able to make designer fashion not only accessible to, but also inclusive of, women of all shapes and sizes.”
