Meet Chasi of Sweat in Mascara!!!
Blog: Sweat in Mascara
Age: 34
Height: 5’5″
Location: Tupelo, Mississippi
How long have you been blogging? Two years in March
Inspiration
What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I’ve taught Zumba for over 5 years, and I was inspired by the many athletes that I see in my classes who are plus size and love fitness just as much as I do. It was empowering to start Sweat In Mascara as a place for plus size athletes to come and feel accepted. I do not feel as if plus size athletes get enough exposure in fitness campaigns in our society. Sweat In Mascara is a place for the women who love fitness, fashion, and living life plus size.
Evolution
Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
What started out as a hobby quickly evolved into a passion to show the world that fitness has no size. I wanted to be part of the change that I wanted to see.
What is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
My neckline/shoulders. I love off the shoulder, boatneck, and one-strap tops and any blouse that accentuate my neckline.
What are the challenges, if any, you face regarding being plus size?
Most of the challenges are always somewhat [centered] around being labeled as incompetent when it comes to fitness because of my size.
FAVES
What’s your favorite thing about being plus size?
I love showing other women, especially plus size women, that fitness and self-love is for every body. I love pushing women especially those who have never embraced fitness because of the stereotypes in our society. The look on their face when they defy the odds is priceless. Those are the moments I live for.
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
Inspiring a new generation of women to be fearless and being what I needed when I was younger. I was the plus size kid looking for hope, so to hear many young girls say that I inspire them to love themselves is really humbling. Most of all, representing for all the plus size athletes, dancers, and fitness lovers. We are out here!
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
Tema Athletics, Lane Bryant, Eloquii, Asos, Universal Standard, Shein
Who Are You
Describe your personal style.
My personal style is feminine, chic, and sophisticated.
Which bloggers inspire you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Naturally Fashionable and Cece Olisa
Plus Size Fashion Today
What do you think about where plus size fashion is today versus a few years back?
Plus size fashion has truly evolved, and I’m happy about it. I remember getting my Easter dress from Lane Bryant in high school. It was not as young and modern as I would have liked it to be. Brands have came a long way. I love it, brands are recognizing that plus size women are fashionable.
What do you think or hear from readers, is one of the biggest myths about plus size fashion?
Wear what you want. I’m very particular about the way I dress my body. Every trend is not for every body.
Extra Info
Are you working on anything or have anything to share? Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
I have lots of things coming up this year. I just launched my YouTube channel, so be on the lookout, and I’m always on my social media platforms.
Lastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
Curvy. Confident. Chic means at any size be proud of who you are, be confident in what you can do and never put limits on yourself.

She is such an inspiration and I love how she dresses. Myself personally I’m trying to get fit as a plus size woman and being healthy is key for me right now since I have type 2 diabetes. I want to beat it. I also love fashion and modeling my little diy’s outfits.
