Oscar Nominations go plus size for Precious!

Plus size women being recognized on the big screen? Up for 5 Oscar nominations, Precious, featuring Gabby Sidibe makes waves in the 2010 Oscars.

we are bacd season! Are we finally seeing more plus size recognition on the big screen? Well, nominated for five of the major awards of the evening, Precious and its curvy co-stars made the cut for the Oscars! While it was rumored that Miss MoNique may not get her nomination, both Gabby Sidibe and MoNique represent for the curvy fashionistas in their respective roles for Precious!

Over the past few years, we have been calling for more representation of plus size women in media, and with this nod, we get two women who are pushing the envelope for us. 

Precious Receives 5 2010 Oscar Nominations For: 

  • Best Picture for the 2010 Oscars
  • Actress in a Leading Role
  • Actress in a Supporting Role
  • Directing
  • Adapted Screenplay
