Need a little inspiration? We are kicking off Plus Size Bridal Week with a spotlight on YOU, the plus size brides who took our breath away and stunned on their big day!
I love stumbling upon new plus size designers from across the globe, especially today’s feature! Designs by Rehabiah is the newest find from across the world, as this Nigerian plus size line has recently launched with three capsule collections for spring 2014!
As I found, over on Bella Naija, Designs by Rehabiah launched in 2013 specifically to cater to the plus size woman created by Temitope Olagbegi, a plus size woman who was fed up with the challenges we all face as it comes to fashion. Designs by Rehabiah brings a “classic and sophisticated approach to plus size fashion, changing perceptions and stereotypes of just WHO we are.”
For the spring collection of Designs by Rehabiah, they have released not one, but three capsule collections. As one who loves patterns, new silhouettes to play in, I am here for a few of these looks!
The collections, ‘Samurai’, ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Boyfriend’ all bring bold color, playful patterns, and fancy texture play too! While most I would incorporate right into my closet, there are a few that I would edit just slightly, but overall, I am digging what Designs by Rehabiah brings to the table! Let me share:
Nigerian Plus Size Designer Collection- Designs by Rehabiah
All collection descriptions from Bella Naija
The Samurai Collection
This collection is birthed with oriental influence and has structured and elegant pieces with damask, lined lace and batik fabrics.
The Butterfly Collection
With its influence taken from the beautiful fluttering butterfly, this collection is filled with brightly colored pieces with fluid textured fabrics that cascade in all the right places. The collection is comprised of low necklines, floor lengths, exaggerated sleeves and cinched waist lines.
The Boyfriend Collection
This is easy every day wear that gives a “get up and go” look, yet encapsulates the essence of the Rehabiah woman. The collection is filled with separates and is designed to be teamed with straight pants, capris and jeans.
