We love a great leap of faith and chasing your dreams. And one of those people who has inspired us is influencer Hayet Rida with her launch of The Koi Studio!
Are you familiar with Australian plus size brand, 17 Sundays? No stranger to the blog, we have featured them here and here and here! This playful and cheeky brand serves us quirky prints and silhouettes that are both inspired and playful and for Resort 2013, there are a few gems that you have to check for!
What is really cool about this collection is that it was shot by Stanley Debas (more on him and our project soon!) and modeled by Jakaliene Riviera and Kelly Brown with hair and makeup by Prentiss!
Let me share with you who 17 Sundays is:
“At 17 we want to give every girl the opportunity to feel sexy on date night, beautiful on a girl’s night out, sassy in a club and confident kicking around town running errands. Although we strive to hit on trend styles through monthly range offerings, 17 is so much more than just clothes.
17 is a cultural destination, where everyone that values fashion, art, music, politics and creativity can contribute and become part of something positive. 17 is about taking self-esteem, confidence and expression back, and let’s face it we aint going to be doing that in a kick leg elastic waist jean and printed chiffon mu mu/tunics.”
And now for Resort 2013 by 17 Sundays
For this collection 17Sundays focused on print (every girl loves a great print, right?). Hand painting is one of their strengths at 17 Sundays and they have brought this into their resort collection. Placement prints and embroidered sequins, rope weaves and calypso bead detailing, and whimsical embellishing are what you will find.
Inspired by the essence of an Australian summer, electric colours, sun bleached BASICS and earthy, ombre water paints, this Resort collection fashions new silhouettes perfect for glam city nights or beach holidays with slinky cotton silks and luxe woven rayons.
The collection is available November 7th online at 17 Sundays! They DO ship internationally! With sizes up to an Australian 26, there is a range for many of us to play in!
