Clear your calendars and pack your glitter, boo! Fat Con is coming back to Seattle, and this time, it’s bringing even more fat joy, resistance, and unapologetic fabulousness. From January 16–18, 2026, the West Coast’s largest celebration of fat liberation returns to the King Street Ballroom & Perch, and the theme? Fat Defiance. Yes, ma’am. They’re not just showing up, they’re showing out.
But wait, there’s more.
This year, Fat Con is teaming up again with its ultra-sultry sibling event, Fatlesque Fest NW, happening January 15–17 at The Triple Door, for a full five-day ThickMAS takeover that’s equal parts glitter, grit, and ground-shaking fat pride.
What’s in Store at Fat Con 2026?

Let’s talk headliners:
Ronald Young Jr., podcasting powerhouse behind Weight For It, is serving keynote realness. He’ll be joined by an all-star cast including Lindy West (Shrill), the always bold Jay Atlas (aka The Bad Activist), and the badass trainers from All Bodies Strong in Portland.
They’ve also got:

• A Fashion Show powered by the stylish geniuses at The Plus Bus
• A Pool Party (yes, really!) sponsored by the inclusive icons at Snag Tights
• A special screening of Empire Waist with a live Q&A from filmmaker Claire Ayoub
• Poster-making with Seattle’s own Partners in Print
• Community connections with NAAFA and Executive Director Tigress Osborn
And that’s just scratching the surface; Fat Con will feature over 30+ hours of programming across activism, culture, wellness, style, and joy. Whether you’re coming to get inspired, to dance it out, or to find your fat family… this is the space for you.

Why Fat Con Matters
In a world where diet culture keeps shapeshifting (hi, Ozempic), Fat Con 2026 stands as a radical act of defiance. As Mx. Pucks A’Plenty, Fat Con Director and overall icon, says:
“We are here to remind everyone that our worth isn’t measured in pounds lost… Diet culture is big business, and these businesses make money off of making us dislike ourselves.”

We couldn’t agree more. Fat Con is reclaiming space, honoring the legacy of Fat Black women activists, and making room for everyone who’s been told to shrink. And like Lori Collins, Programming Director, says:
“We make space for the unheard to have a voice, for the invisible to feel seen, the lonely to be in community.”

This is about more than just a weekend. This is movement. This is family.
