Pamela Gonzales is a Peruvian designer and her Spring/Summer Collection 2014 was goddess-like, sexy, gorgeous, made you want to make love to the clothes! Okay, I am going overboard. But there is something about Latin designers that they bring fire to their designs. It’s like VA VA VOOM!
It brings out the best in women. Tucks in our worst. This collection was full of gorgeous textures, and champagne, inflamed reds, calm turquoise and an array of tones for every woman’s skin tone. The collection was a showstopper! You don’t wear Pamela Gonzales to the grocery store. I mean you could. But that’s only because you want attention. Then again who doesn’t love attention?
Her pieces are meant to evoke emotion. Not just oohs and ahhs. But oh my God’s! It is an instant reaction. It is a must have, can’t live without it, need it right now kind of collection. You had long evening gowns and short garments with beautifully low and long cut necklines. It was an experience. It was truly and understanding of a woman’s body. We are not perfect in any way. No one is. Our clothes create our perfection and Pamela Gonzales did just that.
Let’s talk about the event. It was at the Pamela Gonzales store on West Broadway in New York City. The event was full of bloggers, journalists, photographers, and fashionistas. The music was vibrant. You were served hors d’oeuvres and champagne. Then you couldn’t help but look around and admire the outstanding sense of style some of these gorgeous ladies had. You had eclectic, elegant, funky, colorful and subdued. I managed to snag photos of some gorgeous girls that put some really great looks together. I love that you get to see style at every size. You just had to see it for yourself!
