Do you escape for the resort season? Do you find yourself needing a bit of warmth in the winter seasons? Have you ever wondered what Resort season meant? Well, have you ever thought to travel out of the country for a mini vacay to recharge, relax, and release? Then please let me tell you all about Villa Del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto and why you should add it to your vacation shortlist!
What intrigued me?
Well, for starters, I have not been on a vacation to Mexico, although I spent most of my young adulthood in California! I have cruised through, but I had never enveloped myself in the culture! But this particular location offered more than its amazing scenery and jaw dropping location… you see, Villa del Palmar prides itself on being Baja’s First Million Star Resort focusing on their comprehensive Health and Wellness program, including their own Medicine Man!
Growing up in Okinawa and Hawaii, I have had my fair share of tropics and island life, so I thought that I knew what I was in for. Nope! When I was invited to take a press trip down to Mexico, to learn more about this location, I knew that I was in for a treat, I just had no idea that I’d be experiencing a little piece of heaven! This was a new experience, one I hope to experience again!
“Our holistic approach is designed to tune-in on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels, allowing an organic healing process to naturally unfold,” said Claudine Riemer, director of the resort’s Sabila Spa and Wellness Center. “Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto guests will be able to activate and nurture new healing paths by honoring their highest potential.”
This luxury resort is seriously a secluded slice of heaven, nestled on the Sea of Cortez! Just off the eastern coast of the Baja peninsula, overlooking Danzante Island, this place is surrounded by the Sierra de la Giganta range! So you are on the beach, surrounded by mountains and cactus, but with breathtaking views of the sea! Trippy and relaxing all at the same time! OH and Villa del Palmar is the first and only resort to “occupy one of the Gulf of California’s last virgin coastlines!”
For our stay, we had the pleasure of experiencing almost everything that the resort had to offer, from the amazing drinks (hello coffee on fire) to the top notch hospitality, to a few hours at the resort’s award-winning 39,000-foot Sabila Spa, fine dining at the resort’s Danzante Restaurant, and even a morning prayer with the Medicine Man!
Not only did we have great food and time at the spa, but around the resort, we went on really cool (and sometimes hilariously scary) hike to the top of a mountain (yes, I did that). We ventured on an island excursion, and a few of my blogging buddies went paddle boarding!
We also ventured into town for some shopping, drinking and dining. There I found the MOST AMAZING liqueur. UGH. I need more. Ohhhh and they also had their very own Tequila Sommelier! Ha! That was fun! For reals. But, I had the chance to learn about the island, the history, and to experience a part of Mexico that I know I would not have done!
You know the best part of Villa del Palmar? If you are one who wants to go, itt6 does not cost an arm and a leg! If you are one who appreciates nature, wants a bit of peace and relaxation, along with great food and service, then you need to mark Villa del Palmar for the books. I know that I will be back and with rooms starting at $208 a night, it is not a reach to visit!
This rejuvenating retreat includes a four-night stay in a Deluxe Studio suite, daily healthy cuisine and beverage in the resort’s gourmet Market and Casa Mia restaurants, juice therapy (OMG the juices we had were amazing!, and holistic activities like prayer on the beach with Mister Medicine Man!
Villa del Palmar at The Islands of Loreto features:
- 181 new, spacious, beautifully appointed Deluxe Ocean View, one, two and three bedroom Suites with terraces and stunning ocean and mountain views
- three restaurants offering gourmet dining
- five swimming pools
- a 39,000 square-foot Sabila Spa and Wellness Center
- two tennis courts, beautiful beaches
- a private beachfront Danzante Bungalow (honeymooners anyone?) with a private butler!
And if golfing is your jam, the 7,400-yard Rees Jones-designed Danzante Bay golf course will be opening soon!
I invite you to learn more about Villa del Palmar and this beach resort at villadelpalmarloreto.com!
I know that I will be back here… I may try to get the family to visit or maybe the homegirls… Hrmmm. But definitely one I am adding to my vacay shortlist!
