“Lane Bryant was founded in 1904 by Lena Himmelstein Bryant Malsin, a Lithuanian immigrant and entrepreneur whose original business focused on maternity apparel. As customer demand grew, Bryant recognized the lack of fashionable clothing available for larger women and became one of the first retailers to specifically design apparel for plus-size consumers. The company helped establish many of the fit standards used in plus-size fashion today. In the 1920s, Lane Bryant measured thousands of women and developed proprietary sizing systems to better accommodate fuller figures, helping transform the plus-size apparel industry. Today, Lane Bryant offers apparel, workwear, denim, dresses, activewear, intimates, swimwear, and accessories through its retail stores and e-commerce platform. The brand is particularly known for its Cacique lingerie line, LIVI activewear collection, and fit-focused wardrobe essentials.
