Gotta Have It: 17 Sundays Chunky Open Weave Sweater Dress
Yes, I know in California and in the US, we are currently going through a fabulous heatwave, but in the fashion world, fall items are already starting to show itself. AND over down under, they are already in the fall season (actually they are opposite seasons from us!). Thanks to 17 Sundays Sweater Dress, my mind is racing…
I happened to be checking out 17 Sundays and when I saw it, I was elated. I have longed for a chunky knit sweater or a chunky knit sweater dress and GUESS WHAT?!?!
IT. HAS. Been. FOUND.
This wool and acrylic open weave sweater dress is asymmetrical, unique, a dark blood red, and sassy. Perfect for those cool nights as they start to creep in and perfect to take into fall with tights and ankle booties OR paired with a sheer maxi skirt. MMHMM… this dress is calling my name something fierce.
This red? Normally I would have shied away from, but I am digging the various hues of red right now… and this one is sexy. Here, they have it paired with nudish heels, but I think I would make it a bit more masculine… or easy…
You can cop this dress here, at 17 Sundays! Make sure you keep up with them on Facebook or give 17 Sundays a tweet on Twitter!
That dress looks really cool, but $129???? That’s too much, especially for something like that. I’ve found better looking chunky sweaters(dresses) at affordable prices. 🙁
Hey Elizabeth the reason our prices are as they are is because we used humane ethical makers. The costs of this are obviously higher that companies who run their garments thru sweatshops and unethical manufacturing methods. Fair pay and good conditions for our workers is a matter we are extremely passionate about as a business.. If you ever want to know more about that please feel free to reach out to us :)) 17S x
I really appreciate that you responded! I didn’t know that is why your company specifically has items priced so high, but at least for you I now understand – and completely agree with your practices. Unfortunately there are a lot of companies that blame their high prices on us being plus size, needing to use more fabric to cover our forms. I apologize if I sounded rude in my first comment.
We are indeed in an interesting shift right now, where we get to see and learn about each company’s practices… I am happy that you were able to see and go from there! 😀
It just doesnt look like it should be worn as a dress to me..
How would you wear it? As a tunic???
See, now why are you tryna make me spend my money! *lol*
Heheheheheheh but of course.
Not form fitting. It honestly looks sloppy. This woman does not look put together. (plus size people can, do, and look amazing in form fitting clothes btw). I can find something like this at a thrift store.
Hello there…
So when it comes to the beauty of options, we now have various styles and types that we can choose from. I do not always want to rock something fitted… Yes, we can and yes we do look good… no one said or implied we dont.
Sloppy? No, maybe it looks oversized, since the model is smaller. But sloppy no. For the fall, I imagine this dress with over the knee boots with tights.
I have a few sweater dresses, but never in a fancier knit or weave that we see in straight sizes. This one is one of the closer styles that we see in the plus size fashion community, open weave, in a bold hue. Over the past fall, I have and been on a hunt for this specific thing…
If this is not your cup of tea… that is completely fine and I think this is what the beauty of plus size fashion and options give us… the option to shop from and with designers and retailers that speak to our lives 😀
I’m in love with this.
Not my style as a dress, but I would use it as sexy loungewear 😉
