All opinions, reviews, and thoughts are my own!

So it is the time for New Year Resolutions and let me tell you, I am here for all of this newness. As I have a lot planned for the business side of things, for me and my beauty goals, well, I could definitely use a few kicks in the tail here, especially as I am already on the โ€œdo more outfit posts kick!โ€ So rather than list out ten beauty resolutions, I thought I would give myself a singular New Year Beauty Resolution- Going Bold.

A New Year Beauty Resolution: Going Bold

If you have been following the spring trend reports and the beauty ones then you may have caught that there were quite a few bold statements and trends on the runway! Thanks to the kick in the behind from Sally Beauty to make this happen, I have this fun post here for you! Let me share with you what a few of these resolutions and trends are and how I am going to rock it.

Please bear with me, as I am NOT a pro but a lover of the beauty products! If you have tips to make it pop even better, drop those below!ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Bold Lips in both RED and Pink

Rocking a red lip has been the greatest challenge for me and I have documented this on the blog many times before, but I AM GOING to do this! You hear me!?! Hehehe

A New Year Beauty Resolution Going Bold How I make it work:

  1. When putting on my BBCream or foundation, I will make sure that I apply this to my lips as a primer.
  2. Then I line AND fill in my lips with the liner- for maximum staying power (also I do not have full lips, so this helps me cheat a bit).
  3. BLOT.
  4. Then I apply my lipstick to make this work!
  5. VOILA, fancy lips in both a red or pink hue!

A Strong Cat Eye

Now, I am used to playing around with fun and fancy color eyeliners, HOWEVER a strong cat eye? I am not toooo used to, especially in black. BUT, a new year is all about trying and testing out new things, right? And since it is trending on the runways, I had to give it a whirl or two or โ€ฆ who knows! RIGHT.

A New Year Beauty Resolution Going Bold How I make it work:

  1. Starting from the inner corner of my eye, I create a fine line
  2. To make my wing, I follow the bottom lash line, working from the inside out! I do not want to get tooo fancy, so I keep it just a bit playful.
  3. After I wing it, I connect both lines and fill in!
  4. Please note, this does take practice and I am normally used to pencil, but love the look of a liquid liner!

What I Used: Palladio Herbal Liquid Eyeliner in Shimmer Black

Color on the nails

Usually, I keep a clean nail. USUALLY. However with this new Marsala color of the year, I had to figure a way to fancy this into my life. You all seemed to cheer this on over on FB, so I am giving it a whirl. SO I am giving my nails a bold look, in this FingerPaints color that was almost SPOT ON for Marsala!

What I Used: FingerPaints Nail Polish in Free Form Fawn

SO these are a few ways that I am making this work for me for the New Year- please hold me to it! And guess what? All of my tools and colors used you can cop at Sally Beauty!

I will also be trying different hues of pink and red, a stronger cat eye- out of my comfort zone and bold shadows and nails, but these are JUST a few!

But what is a Sally Beauty post without a great sweepstakes!?!

The Sweepstakes: New Year, New You Challenge

Like myself, Sally Beauty is challenging YOU to try something new โ€“ daring new hair color, bright new nail shade, fresh new lip color, new hairstyle, basically something NEW!

All you have to do is share your โ€œNew Youโ€ look and you could win a trip to New York for a makeover by a professional TV stylist! SERIOUSLY!!!
