Summer is here, and so is the summer heat! Now, I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do is layer on uncomfortable clothes, tight tops, and, well, shorts that can be not only uncomfortable but oddly enough make you hot… and not in the rocking diva way!
Sooo what to wear on such days of blistering heat and comfort-seeking days?! Two words, Wrap Dresses. If you haven’t had the honor to rock these during the summer, well, here is your chance.
These are definitely a must-have for this season. Almost like a robe, as easy and comfortable as that.

What do you think of these 7 finds? Did you see any that pique your interest?
These wrap dresses are so versatile! They give us so many options in styling with different colors, patterns, leg, and arm lengths! Another really cool benefit about wrap dresses is that they work for various shapes, heights, and personal styles!
Also, they’re the perfect look for every occasion; a midday brunch, shopping with friends, and depending on the finish and style, a night out for cocktails!
In my opinion, but please let me know what you think, short-length wrap dresses would look great during the day. Of course, you match it up with some sandals or some cute flats if you don’t want to be too dressy.
For a night out, the maxi wrap dress would look awesome picture yourself walking in like royalty with that amazing drape of the skirt, catching in the wind… Okay, obviously, I am a fan of this dress style.
BUT! The best part is when it comes to accessorizing your looks! The more minimal the accessories, the better!
Soooo tell me, tell me! Which is your fave?!
Do you see yourself rocking these this summer? Will you be adding a wrap dress or two to your closet? That’s a purchase you won’t regret!
Until next time…
I’ve always found they don’t look right on me…
Although some of these look like they are worth a try on…
I like them as long as I wear a cami underneath
For cleavage?
Yes, otherwise my bra is on display for the whole office
I love them, but you have to be careful – they can sometimes look like a robe rather then a dress
True…
That blue and white one looks like a floofy dressing gown!
That was my exact thought!
I thought it was a robe too
It actually looks better on. I pair this dress some cute denim shoes and silver accessories and it turned out cute.
I imagine thos on a fuller woman and itd be cuter!
Im a bit of a fuller woman, i just cant picture it…..possibly…..maybe….if it was in a different colour?
Nah, I’m fully full. I’d look like a marshmallow ready for bed.
Bahahahaha
They look terrible on me
That is not a wrap dress. It is a robe.
Nope, it’s a dress, from Who What Wear, I believe. Doesn’t fit the model well thoughâ¦
Amber Kimball I apologize for my imprecise language. What I meant to say is, that looks like a fugly robe.
Jessica O’Hanlon agreed!
It’s hideous!
I think the model does not sell it, but i loooove it!
The Curvy Fashionista well let me know when you try it on. I wanna see a pic! I’m telling ya, I was Martha Washington, Betsy Ross, all the way! ð ð
I usually love them, but I tried on this blue & white striped/ruffled affair in the photo and I promise I looked just like Martha Washington! -_-
That thing in th picture looks horrible!
Taylor Jeanne Casey
That is a horrible wrap dress. There are literally millions that are better. But hey, it’s “plus” size, so by some kind of law it MUST have: an irrational hemline; peasant-style sleeves that are too short; flouncy ruffles in an inane placement. It would make a great shepherdess costume, though, if that’s the kind of place where you work or like to spend your free time.
As for the wrap dress in general? The basic sleek design Diane Von Furstenberg made popular in the 70’s could easily work for many plus sized women, even if the plus size law dictated that an uneven hem and sleeves that won’t ever be cut longer than 3/4 length be involved. It just doesn’t ever work on my plus sized body.
Great review â¤ï¸
Loooove your feedback! Im thinking on this model, it doesnt work, but depending on the model, it’d be a different look.
The only wrap dresses that even remotely work for me are Kyonna. Even then I have to pin them.
I think they look sloppy.
Wrap dresses ok but that girl looks like she gonna kill somebody for making her wear the ugliest one they made.
What’s the deal with ruffles haha
Love ruffles, in moderation… lololol
Haha I’ve been shopping a lot this weekend and have seen so many oddly placed ruffles
That’s a ROBE.
Not a dress.
Not a wrap dress.
That’s a ROBE.
Back to the drawing board, folks.
*facepalm
However, it’s a lovely ROBE.
That was my exact thought also! Ruffles have got to go!
For me, it’s the SLEEVES that really kill it!
Im a fan, not of this one tho
Fair enough!
I have one in my closet. It’s zebra print with a pink along the trim. I wore it for my engagement pictures. Love it. Very flattering. I haven’t tried it on since my breast reduction though. May have to break it out. I believe the name of the designer is Igigi.

Wish it was still available for y’all
Liz Claiborne makes fabulous wrap dresses. Not all that fashion forward, but an accessible foundation for the professional wardrobe. But don’t forget to bring a safety pin . . . or two, LOL.
Love them, but I’m not busty enough to ever fill out the top part correctly lol. Compliments my bottom though lol.
I like them
I love them, though i don’t care for the one in the picture.
It looks poofy with too many layers…it doesn’t look too flattering in the picture
I love the idea, but always too much cleavage showing for me to comfortably wear one off the rack. I can’t even find a bra to accommodate that cut. Maybe if it was handmade, the neckline could be altered a bit.
In the disco era wrap dresses were the thing. I just don’t care for them.
Wrap dress, yes. That blue/white striped bathrobe from Target? no.
Woohoo… how ’bout sharing that “engagement picture” Ethel Robinson…
I’d Love to see you in the pink zebra wrap around dress…
I agree the blue one is ugly, but scroll thru the pictures, some aren’t bad!!
3 out of 7. All those ruffles and long sleeves are not my thing at all lol.
Too many of them look like frumpy, frilly housecoats.
Well, is she going to take of the ratty housecoat and show us or what?
Gotta get me a wrap skirt. My mom used to make them for me when I was a child 🙂
Not the blue one it looks like a house coat/robe
No!!!
I wanted to LOVE the ruffle wrap dress from Target. But it just didn’t work for me. The top was too low cut and would not stay snapped. There is just too much fabric for me.
snapped? There are snaps? But it does look nice on you!
The Curvy Fashionista Thank you. I so wanted to love it. if you zoom in and look at the cleavage area you will see those poor snaps, miles apart, LOL I hope to post the cute outfit I did purchase. Target has some really nice plus pieces.
I hate wrap dresses! I keep trying to make them work but they never do. Designers who think wrap dresses work for large chested women are kidding themselves.
what do you find to be your issue? does a faux wrap work better?
Love this dress! I can rock this.
woooot!
the yellow Asos dress gets my vote. o/ that dress is pretty (or maybe i am just fixated on the color yellow) plus – it has a little sleeve, which is always a plus. Would want it a little longer in the hem though. But that is the best one out of the 7 options =)
