I am not sure if you have been watching the Dream Crazier campaign that Nike has launched. The first video that debuted the campaign, made me cry. I got chills and was legitly moved by this campaign. Well, Nike just snatched every last tear from my eyes when they debuted the next installment in this series with the Alabama Honeybeez!

The Honeybeez are leading their own movement.
Yes. The plus size dance crew from Alabama State University! The Honeybeez are featured in this video series and yโall. As I watched this video, I could not help but to tear up. I am not sure if you know this about me, but I used to be a cheerleader in college- like the compete on ESPN type of cheerleader. Toe touches, back handsprings and intense stunting type of cheerleader. ย From 4th grade up through college.
And no lie, I miss it. I have even tried looking for old cheer footage just to see and reminisce, to no avail.

But when I saw this new video featuring Nike & The Honeybeez. A whole new type of emotion swelled up in meโฆ I felt affirmed. Seen. Respected. In a way that we hardly ever see a national brand rep for the plus size woman. It is one thing to sell us clothes, but a whole other game when we are heard.
Nikeโs Dream Crazier series? Has spoken to me in a way that I have not been, in a long time- or those moments are fleeting. And in this year of being BOLDER, this Dream Crazier series is right up my alleyโฆ

Yes, there have been a slew of hashtag body positivity campaigns that are light and fluffy and happy, but this one for me? Spoke to the old athlete in me. The old โbig bonedโ โheavysetโ and โthickโ girl who dared to do the things that her smaller teammates would do.
And watching these young ladies show confidence, be vulnerable, and share their process with what The Honeybees gives them, through the help of Nike?
Perfection.

This is amazing and inspiring. I love seeing the confidence and graceful moves of these beautiful women. I love that young women coming up are finally having role models to look up to that are all shapes, sizes, and color. Itโs about time.

Are you okay with me sharing this post? I saw it on Facebook but thought this might be a better place to ask. My coworkers helped develop and drive this campaign and would probably love to see this. Wanted to check first. Definitely keep an eye out for the rest as there are a lot of inspirational stories coming as they ramp up to Womenโs World Cup.
