I am currently obsessed with rocking white for spring!
Let me tell you, every season, I have a tendency to zone in and kind of become a little obsessed about something… I still LOVE my black and white color palette, still pine for any kind of Rachel Pally maxi, but in addition to these, I have this funny excitement about rocking white for the spring season. Like, I now have a growing white hole in my closets and I happen to be completely okay with it.
However, I find that as plus size women, we tend to shy away from white (totally generalizing here) but this seems to be one of those things and trends that we shy away from. However, for me this spring, I am all about bringing it to the front of my closet! With the advancements in style, design, and quality, plus size fashion has come a long way and this is evident in the options that we have to play in for the spring season!
Think about it! We have heavier weights that drape over the curves nicely, innovative fabric blends that let our curves breathe a bit better, and to top it all off, it is fashionable and forward. I think that the FFFWeek White Cruise has something to do with this too, but who knows!
Are you a fan of rocking white?
There is something sharp, elegant, edgy, playful, and bold about a fly head to toe white look. Well, maybe not to the toe, I am still trying to get it together with white shoes… THAT I cannot see. LOL Baby steps, right?
So what I have done, as I normally do, is round up a few of my faves that have be slightly giddy about spring and all of its warming glory and share them with you!

Tips for rocking white:
- It is all about your foundations first. Your bra and chonie color combination is key! Think nude to you colors or hues that do not contrast so much to your complexion. UNLESS showing your goodies is an intentional thing…
- Shapewear (if you choose to indulge) is one of my wardrobe staples, especially if I am wearing pants or a fitted bodycon number… although you will have to catch me on a day that I care… lol BUT think about shaping panties, slips, and high waist shaper shorts as a few of the options you can play in!
- Pay attention to the quality of the fabric and construction. Does the item hang and drape your curves? Does it turn see-through once a body is in there? Is it lined? How are the seams?
- When wearing white, I know this sounds silly, but do not go about your day as if you are wearing white… If you do, you will constantly be over compensating, tugging and pulling, and can inevitably cause something to happen to epically dirty yourself! You know what I mean?
Rocking white may sound scary, but the more you do it, the easier it becomes… I promise! And I can already declare that for this season, you will see me in so much white. I already have three things I am sooo hyped to wear. I cannot wait!
What about you? Is white a color that you boldly play in or are you still on the fence? Let’s discuss!
If you want to see all sizes of women and men killin’ it in white, you might want to try a video search on (orisha OR oricha) AND (festival OR ceremony). Both clergy and congregation in a family tree of Afro-Caribbean religions wear white for worship on many occasions. You can see how the white clothing lights up a wide range of skin tones as well as the effect of a confidence that comes from sustained experience wearing it and knowing it’s spiritually beneficial. Some say that white reflects away any bad energies floating around.
