Girl! It looks like there is a new plus size workwear player in town!! MM.LaFleur, a retailer designed to make workwear both chic and functional, has debuted their new collection, First Addition! The brand has yanked their 18 best-selling pieces and extended the sizes to include 14W-22W. And that’s not all, MM. LaFleur will be adding 20 more styles to the brand new collection in the coming weeks! 20 more ways to work it?! Sounds like a plan!

MM LaFleur Extends Sizing into Plus From the sleek and structured curve-hugging of The Etsuko Dress to the architectural cap sleeves of the The Sarah 7.0 Dress, the First Addition collection will definitely turn heads in a row of bland cubicles… and beyond! I especially love The Winfrey Top and The Soho Skirt. Is this is a play on words to pay homage to the most famous Winfrey? It certainly reminds me of Oprah’s most common silhouette.

Creative director Miyako Nakamura, a Zac Posen alum, lead the development process, hiring technical designer Matilda Ceesay. “We serve professional women and professional women do not end at size 16,” Nakamura said.MM LaFleur Extends Sizing into Plus

“What I like best about the fit in the MM collection is that it really takes into consideration a woman’s body. It’s adapted to your curves—and every single woman is different,” said model and entrepreneur Clémentine Desseaux

She ain’t lying! Knowing full well that the limiting range of a typical size-scale can’t possibly fit every single shape and size, MM.LaFleur has developed its own sizing model: size +1 fits women who typically wear 14W-16W; size +2 fits women who typically wear 16W-20W; size +3 fits women who typically wear 20W-22W.

Launched in 2013 by Sarah LaFleur, MM.LaFleur was designed to take the “blah pantsuits” out of a professional woman’s wardrobe and substitute them with more inspired pieces. MM.LaFleur’s provides a wardrobe “full of gorgeous, versatile pieces that reflect both her personal style (sophisticated silhouettes, ingenious design details) and her dynamic lifestyle (machine-washable, travel-friendly).”

MM LaFleur Extends Sizing into Plus

“One thing that sets MM.LaFleur apart from other retailers is that we really listen to our customers,” said the founder/CEO. “There aren’t many high-end brands that target the plus-sized woman, let alone the professional plus-sized woman. But the truth is, she’s not niche. We’re always striving to become more inclusive, and we’re so excited to make our collection accessible to an even greater number of professional women.”

About time! I previously wrote them and their reply was quite dismissive.

I was one of those ladies who complained lol I was so in love with these pieces. I have a style appointment here in DC in two weeks and I am so excited to be able to fit these pieces.

Hi Toby and Jen! Thanks so much for chiming in. Toby, we’re so sorry you felt dismissed, and we’re thrilled to have extended our sizing to be able to serve you. Are you up for trying a Bento Box with some of our new pieces? Jen, our D.C. team is looking forward to hosting you soon!

The collection is a good START. Nothing but a start. I see many blouses I’d love to have that are not sized up.

    Don’t believe it it’s a lie!
This week I received my box with things that were the wrong size despite the fact that I had provided one. In addition these “plus size” pieces are the exact opposite. They were so tight and showed off every ounce of fat on me, it was incredibly uncomfortable.
Don’t be fooled. I returned everything in my box.
