Hope you enjoyed meeting Lisa of Lisa Mosh last week! Since shining the light on an international blogger, we had another international blogger reach out to us! How about that!
Today, we’re excited to introduce you to another amazing German fashion blogger – Katha of Kathastrophal! Katha has a sweet and sophisticated style, and her blog is available in German or English. She is a plus-size blogger YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Meet Katha of Kathastrophal!!
Blog: http://kathastrophal.de
Height: 5’9″
Age: 27
Location: Wiesbaden, Germany
What made you want to become a fashion blogger?
In 2009/2010, I discovered plus size bloggers and soaked up everything they wrote and all their fantastic outfits – some of them were Katrin of Reizende Rundungen, Alegra of Dollface, Natalie of Extra Large as Life, Lauren of Pocket Rocket Fashion, and of course, Gabi Fresh. For the first time in my life, I saw girls with figures like mine wearing beautiful clothes, and I discovered so many great plus size online shops.
These girls really changed my life. They gave me so much confidence! Soon, reading just wasn’t enough, and I wanted to be a bigger part of this body positive online world and inspire others! So I started my blog and started to share my outfits.
What are the challenges, if any, you face in being tall and plus-size?
Being plus-size limits your clothing options… I wish I was able to shop offline just as well as online!
Being tall on top of being plus size limits these options even more… a lot of dresses and skirts are too short for my liking. That’s why I’m really happy about the midi trend!
What’s your favorite thing about being tall and plus-size?
I think my height is perfect for midi skirts – and I love my body!
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger? A plus fashion blogger?
The best thing for me is the community – I’ve met so many amazing friends through blogging! It’s also great to be able to look back on things I’ve written years ago and see all the changes I’ve made and the wonderful things I’ve experienced. I’m so thankful for everything that blogging has enabled me to do.
And I always tear up when I get emails from someone who tells me I’ve inspired her to wear a dress and to be more comfortable with her body… it’s amazing to be able to touch other peoples’ lives that way!
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
I shop the most at Dorothy Perkins (and always hope that they’ll offer more and more options in plus sizes) and Asos. I also love New Look and Junarose. Recently I had the chance to try some dresses from IGIGI, and I’m super impressed with the quality and fit!
Modcloth and Kiyonna also offer super pretty clothes… I wish it was easier to buy these in Germany!
Describe your personal style.
Cupcake on legs! I could happily wear a flared dress or skirt with some cute details every single day – but there are so many other things I love: tulle, black and white prints, everything with polkadots on it… I love to try new styles!
Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Isabell of Dressing Outside the Box (she’s the sweetest!), Lilli of Frocks and Frou Frou, and Audrey of Big or not to Big never fail to inspire me!
Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
Wear whatever makes YOU happy! There’s no one else you need to please, and there are no rules you have to follow!
