Interesting and cool news to share! Target has been on a mission to bring fashion to all (including plus), and after their latest Adam Lippes collaboration, Target is back for another partnership, and this is exciting! You see, I have been following, looking up to, and admiring the business and site of Who What Wear for a while now! And starting in February 2016, Target will launch the Who What Wear apparel and accessories collection!
Target tapped into Hillary and Katherine’s “editorial expertise, insights revealed from Who What Wear audiences, and direct consumer feedback,” to create a collection that “combines both art and science in a fresh approach to fashion design.” And at the top of each month, new pieces will drop both online and in-store! Even better? Everything is UNDER $49.99 AND up to a SIZE 26!!
Not only will you be able to shop the collection at select Target stores and Target.com, but the ladies at Who what Wear will have a curated boutique on WhoWhatWear.com too!
So what can we expect from the Who What Wear for Target collection? Target shares:
“At Target, we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to bring great style at an incredible value to our guests,” said Stacia Andersen, senior vice president, apparel and accessories.
The fashion marketplace continues to evolve and our guests today are looking for inspiration from many different places, specifically street style. We’re thrilled to be able to partner with Who What Wear to provide our guests with the styles they crave.
First up in February? An assortment blooming with pieces perfect for easy spring layering. Think blazers, dresses, skirts, flowy tops and light jackets.
But you have to check out this inspiration and behind the scenes video too!
Here are my mini thoughts:
- Up to a 26? Awesome. Now, please do not water down or limit the options available to us.
- Merchandising, if it is coming to stores, either have a distinct landing area in plus, or include in the floor setup for this pop up. (this is a prime opp to build up the plus size department in stores)
- I love Denise but she needs another homegirl too in the ads for this. A brown girl? Can we get Liris or Philomena?
I am excited to see what comes of this collaboration and what I can buy! I do dig that this is an ongoing opp and not a one of or flash in the pan! Excitement indeed!
What are your thoughts? With the changes that Target has slowly ben doing to include us, does this make you happy? Excited? Curious? Let me know…
Tracey Tucker, thank you! I have been very frustrated shopping plus sizes at Target. The choices are limited, as are the sizes and now the plus sizes get mixed up with maternity wear. I haven’t found one item to buy and it’s very unusual for me to leave a store without buying something!
