Target put together a night of fashion and cocktails this past Tuesday at the historic Hudson River Parkโs Pier 57 to kickยญoff New York Fashion Week. A hallway illuminated by red lights and moving white spotlights guided you to the white, circular room where the fashion show took place. The catwalk was a revolving red and white bullseye. The models came in through three different sections of the circle on conveyor belts, giving everyone a good glance at the fashions before getting a full 360 degree view of them on the catwalk.
ย Targets Fall 2013 Fashion Show:
The show was filled with great music and lights that changed color and moved to the beat of each song. The collection was filled with black and white pieces in prints that included houndstooth and polka dots. Mixing prints will continue to prevail in the styling department.
Personally, I loved the combination of a Xhilaration houndstooth pleated skirt paired with a polka dot shirt and sweater. Embellishments, including studs, adorned everything from leather jackets to edgy dresses for the new season. And talking about leatherโฆ Leather also made an appearance on tailored pieces in trims, like on a very cute Mossimo black leather trim skirt. The men were dressed in layered ensembles. Expect plaids, camo print and chambray worn with jeans and chinos for the dudes this upcoming fall.
Each set of collections were followed by delightful dance numbers by a group of dancers dressed in the companyโs red and white colors. Target definitely knows how to put up a show, and their fashions are as fun and trendy. We all got to wrap up the night by enjoying cocktails and small bites while catching up on all the cute fashions we had just seen walk the bullseye.
