You hear about these lovely shopping events catering to the svelte Fashionista, surrounded by sweet shopping deals, samples, spa deals, and tantalizing drinks. Yeah- those ones. Those events where all the cute clothes that are sampled dare not reach above a size 4 and wonder, What about meWhy am I excluded from this luxurious treatment? Why only can I attend (if I dare) to shop the accessories, if I am lucky?”

Belle-Noir Communications presents, Curves and Cocktails: The Ultimate Girls Night Out for Women with Curves 

a plus-friendly powerhouse shopping event on Saturday, April 25 in NYC benefiting One in Three Woman; a global campaign raising awareness about violence against women.

Enter in Miss Aja B. of Belle Noir Magazine. This year she brings to you, the Plus Size Fashionista, Curves and Cocktails, a curvaceous woman’s shopping & socializing paradise! When I say paradise, let me tell you she did not skip a beat when putting this event together. Not only that, but the indulgence of your shopping pleasures help support an amazing cause!

Let me give you the sizzling details:

Okay, so Curves and Cocktails: The Ultimate Girls Night Out For Women with Curves will be fashioned at the AVEnts Loft, 15 West 28th Street, 10th Floor, in New York City, on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 12 noon to 6 pm.

Those lucky VIP Fashionistas attending will be spoiled with goodie bags and swag from prime Plus Size retailer- Igigi, newcomer shoe designer- Samanta Shoes, Dove, Yardley of London, and Purell.

Sponsors for this inaugural event include ToMA Vodka, and The Water Shoppe. Vendors will include plus fashion designer Qristyl Frazier (you know, the designer’s Spring line who I recently featured), Booty Parlor, and new handbag designer Sevy Bags, and the list keeps growing!

In attendance you will find Plus Model Christina Mendez (Rocawear, PZI Jeans) and “Plus Model Magazine” Editor-In-Chief Madeline “Maddy” Figueroa-Jones, both who will be honored and presented with Belle-Noir Communications “Independent Woman” Award at the event, dedicated to the most deserving women who are blazing their own trails in the plus industry.

Not only will you be able to finally bask in the limelight of your plus size existence, your presence and attendance will be towards an amazing cause! “Curves and Cocktails” is partnering with One in Three Women, a global campaign raising awareness about violence against women.

“We are so proud that One in Three Women has signed on as our Official Charitable Partner,” says the event’s Executive Producer & Belle-Noir Communications President Ms. Aja B. Stubbs. “Violence against women knows no race, color, or size. So we are happy to support one in Three Women’s mission and take a public stand on violence against women.”
