New York Fashion Week is a magical yet chaotic cultural phenomenon where the fashion industry comes together while creating impactful moments in time. Dreams can genuinely come true overnight with a well-executed, attention-grabbing visual presentation that takes teamwork to build. With that being said, Curve and Plus Size models alike were showcased at this year’s
Last night, Twitter was abuzz with commentary, especially myself (who ended up in Twitter jail for an hour!) about the delectable parade of fashion hits, bores, misses, and the what were they thinking at the Golden Globes!
One of my FAVORITE Curvy Fashionistas on the red carpet right now held nothing back for the event. Shutting it down in an Oliver Tolentino, Amber Riley sparkled and shined in this head to toe sequins number which I loved! Maybe the belt a touch bit higher, but she made me smile and yell to the TV- You better work!
On the other end of the spectrum, Gabby Sidibe went waaaaaaaaaaaay to casual- almost to the beach casual in a Marc Bower dress. I wish she had more sparkle and shine as our other curvy fashionista! The floral print, interesting length, I mean, the silhouette was okay, but I LOVE seeing her in emeralds, navys, and puples and if she rocked a bold textured or solid dress in that silhouette, it COULD have worked!
I love you Gabby, but THIS was not the best look for you!
On another note…
I Died for the trends shown on the red carpet last night!
Emerald Green, Nudes, and the sophisticated return of BLACK! There I said it- black! Hehehehe! Glamour was amped up, the hair was… interesting, the accessories were just as much a statement as the dress!
I cannot wait for the Grammy’s from seeing these looks at the Golden Globes!
What did you think?
