Posh LAFW Recap

I really love what is happening in Los Angeles. Especially with Los Angeles plus size fashion.

To have two plus size fashion shows  and a meetup within days of each other and everyone coming out to support each other, it makes me all happy and giddy- ESPECIALLY when trying to convince these plus size brands to do more on the west coast! There is a community, thriving in the heart of LA, go figure!

Which brings me to POSH LAFW.

The brainchild of Sommer Green and Janae Jones (of Riot Boutique), POSH LAFW brings us a take on plus size fashion this year with the styling assistance of Reah Norman– plus size stylist that you know from Plus Model Magazine, who also happens to be the Media Sponsor!

This past Sunday, many came out to LA for this event and I was hyped.  I mean QUITE a few especially those influential in the plus size fashion community like Madeline Figueroa Jones, Fluvia Lacerda, Rosie Mercado, Tess Munster, Allie McGevna, Juliette Haggerman, designers Elan Zeilie and Ashley Nell Tipton were there as well! Angela Rene from Haute Curves came to support too! It was sooo much fun!

But I know you want to see what fashions walked down the runway! SO here you go:

Posh LAFW Runway Looks:

Styled by Reah Norman, this show was not your traditional one designer for each segment. Each look came down the runway with a specific trend in mind. Glam Girl, Vintage, Sporty, Rocker were all trends highlighted on the runway. Some looks I loved- for real.

You can check out all the behind the scenes and random shots throughout the event here, in my Posh LAFW Facebook Album!

Did you go? What did you like? How cool is this for Plus size fashion in LA!

  • I think it was absolutely incredible to have TWO plus shows in LAFW, and yes, I am thrilled that the west coast community it here and thriving! I thought it was amazing to have such well executed, produced and styled shows, and I am proud to be part of our curvy community! And hats off to Angela, Jasmine, Janae, Sommer, and Reah, and everyone who had a part of the last awesome week of plus fashion! I am also so excited to have seen the beautiful new and emerging independent designers, so many things I want!!!

    • Thank you Marie for the awesome recap and for coming to support. It was amazing to bring the Green-Jones Productions vision to life, and to showcase plus size fashion in this way for the very first time on the runway!
