Founded in Milan in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana quickly became one of the defining luxury fashion houses of the late twentieth century. Drawing inspiration from Sicilian heritage, Italian cinema, and Mediterranean culture, the designers established a signature aesthetic built around sensual tailoring, intricate lace, corsetry, floral prints, and bold femininity. The brand has also featured more size-diverse models in advertising and runway presentations, though its extended-size offerings remain more limited than many contemporary size-inclusive brands.
