Last week I had the privilege of attending the Mauboussin luxury jewelry boutique in NYC. The luxury jewelry brand first opened up shop in France back in 1827 and has been captivating jewelry lovers ever since. I was excited to attend the event because it’s not very often that an everyday girl like me gets to go and test drive diamonds, so, I was game to see just what Mauboussin had to offer. The Madison Ave. store was a 3-story building of nothing but diamonds and pearls…
My favorite part of the store was the all white 3rd floor that was specifically for brides to be. The room was so plush with white carpet and white large leather chairs that looked like it was from the old school cartoon The Jetsons. There was white tulle in the ceiling over a table that was made to look like you were peaking under the brides dress.
What I Found
What I liked about Mauboussin jewels was that they were sophisticated with intricate details. Some of my favorite pieces were from the Extrêmement Libre et Extrêmement Sensuelle collection that boasted vibrantly colored jewels in purple, yellow, and blue with tapered baguettes. I also was intrigued by the Etoiles Etoiles pieces like the 18K white gold, white mother of pearl and diamond pavé star ring that wrapped around your finger.
Mauboussin offered everything from diamond tennis bracelets, white gold pearl earrings with cognac diamonds to bold watches like the automatic chronograph watch with a pink gold case and bezel that would have you proud to use the term bling, bling.
I know there are tons of highend jewelry stores with beautiful diamonds, but, very few offer a price range for a variety of budgets. Let’s be real here, many of us are trying to make a $1 out of 15 cents, so every penny counts. A number of pieces were under $1,200 with watches starting around $550, and a pretty Gueule d’Amour Pendant, 18K white gold, Rose de France, diamond pavé priced around $800.
So, enough talk about how gorgeous the luxury jewels were, check them out for yourself.
