FFFWeek Designer of the Year: Tru Diva Designs
Tru Diva Designs is no stranger to The Curvy Fashionista and FFFWeek! Known for her edgy, bold, and playful looks, Tru Diva Designs brings a unique voice to the plus size designer space. Disappointed by the lack of options for plus sized women, Veronica got a sewing machine and learned how to sew. Self-taught, Veronica began making her own clothes that not only complimented her curvy physique, but also stood out from what department stores offered.
Her vision for Tru Diva is to make quality clothing that is both unique and flattering for plus sized women. Veronica feels that every woman deserves to feel sexy no matter what shape or size; Tru Diva gives curvier women a place to buy clothes that do just that. Her goal is to take plus sized fashion to a level that the world has yet to see. And for FFFWeek, she brought it!

Hannah Caroline Couture
This designer blew me away. I met Hannah at the beginning of FFFWeek, learning that she was JUST 19 years old! WHAT? Already inspired, I was curious and intrigued to see what she had to say fashionably speaking… and she did not disappoint! After learning how to sew as a student at Millard West High School, she started making clothes for herself when she couldn’t find what she wanted in the stores. She also taught herself how to design by watching YouTube videos and reading blogs she found on Pinterest. Come on inspiration!
With already 11 fashion shows under belt, still in college for business, and a clear voice on what she wants to deliver, Hannah is surely a voice to be reckoned with and I have to admit, I did have a few tears after she finished presenting, especially after hearing the roars of support from the crowd. I was so damned proud and happy for her! See why!

Curves Make A Woman by Bobbi Harris
“There’s more to making plus size clothing than just making average size clothing larger!” Designer Bobbi Harris exclaims as to the impetus of her collection.
“Plus size women have curves and their clothes should be accented, tailored, and fitted. I have many plus size friends and any time we would go shopping, I would be able to find an outfit quickly while my friends struggled … I wanted to create a line where plus size women didn’t have to compromise on quality or price. I wanted women with curves to be able to run to a store or shop online and confidently buy clothing knowing it would fit properly.”
Showcasing for the first time at FFFWeek, this designer gave us a variety of styles and silhouettes to play in and here are our faves from the collection!
