Every other week, The Curvy Fashionista celebrates powerful plus size professionals who are redefining what it means to be a boss; in their own lane, on their own terms. From tech and publishing to art and strategy, this series highlights those who are often overlooked… not the plus size influencers, models, or designers, but plus size professionals making bold moves in boardrooms, businesses, and beyond, like the woman behind Blissful Art & Design.
Because we believe this deeply: you can’t be what you can’t see.
Our last spotlight introduced you to the stylish force that is Carla Hardesty of Phenomenal Fashions. This week, we’re thrilled to introduce you to a woman whose work flows with purpose, design, and divine confidence: S. Te’Resa Thomas, Creative Director and founder of Blissful Art & Design.
From Passion to Purpose

S. Te’Resa’s path to entrepreneurship didn’t start with a business plan, it started with healing and faith.
“Blissful Art & Design was born out of a place of healing and vision,” she shares. “I wanted to create something that blended my faith, love for design, and passion for uplifting others.”
Today, her creative agency is a sanctuary for meaningful, soulful storytelling: infused with artistry, strategy, and her signature touch of inspiration. She’s not just creating visuals. She’s helping brands find their voice and showcase their strength. “It’s not just about design,” she says. “It’s about showcasing beauty, hope, and strength in every project.”
Faith, Family, and Fierceness
A typical day for Te’Resa begins with prayer and gratitude. Then it’s go time: from creating and editing designs, to strategizing with clients, to sharing faith-filled encouragement through her platform, TIA Talks.
“I pour my heart into serving clients while staying aligned with faith and vision,” she says. “Showing up means being authentic and standing tall in my own presence.”
She knows her power, and she wants others to know theirs, too. “I hope my journey reminds other women they, too, deserve to take up space unapologetically.”
Overcoming Doubt and Defining Her Own Path
As a plus size woman of faith in the design world, Te’Resa knows what it feels like to be underestimated. “People sometimes assume design is ‘just pretty pictures,’ but I know it’s about impact, strategy, and storytelling.”
Her answer? Let her work and her consistency speak for themselves.

“Every ‘no’ pushed me closer to the right opportunities. I’ve learned to see challenges as steppingstones, not stop signs.”
Now, she’s using her success to shine a light on others, especially women who feel overlooked.
“Representation isn’t just about visibility; it’s about possibility. When we show up authentically, we open the door for someone else to believe they can, too.”
Creating for the Culture
Through Blissful Art & Design and TIA Talks, Te’Resa is building platforms where Black women are seen, celebrated, and spiritually fed. Whether it’s a logo for a small business, a visual campaign that centers joy and Blackness, or a heartfelt post reminding her community to keep going… everything she touches is laced with intention.
“I use my platforms to uplift and inspire women who feel overlooked or underrepresented. I want them to know: their voice and their presence matter.”

Confidence in Action
For Te’Resa, confidence isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
“Confidence is showing up fully, unapologetically myself, with faith as my foundation. I celebrate the small wins, stay grounded in prayer, and surround myself with people who lift me higher.”
Even her style reflects that same intentionality.
“My top plus size style tip? Own your look with confidence. Focus on fit, proportion, and use color and accessories to show your personality.”
What’s Next for Blissful Art & Design?
What’s next? Big things. S. Te’Resa is expanding her creative reach in new, exciting directions. From client work and digital content to design-driven product launches and new TIA Talks projects, this Curvy Boss is just getting started.

“I’m focused on expanding impact; helping women embrace their voice, celebrate their journey, and feel empowered to step boldly into their purpose.”
Final Word of Advice?
“Show up fully and fearlessly. Trust your skills, honor your journey, and don’t wait for permission to take up space.”
We couldn’t have said it better.
