What made you want to become a fashion blogger?
My blog originally began at the advice of one of my close friends. It started off as a beauty blog because beauty and natural hair are two topics I am passionate about. As time went on, I decided to incorporate fashion because I love thrift shopping as well as shopping for bargains, and I wanted to show readers how you can still be fabellis while on a budget.
What are the challenges, if any, you face in being plus-size?
The challenges I face are probably typical of anyone plus size. Sometimes it’s difficult finding clothing in my size, particularly jeans.
What’s your favorite thing about being plus-size?
I think my favorite thing about being plus size is of course having curves. I hated my curves in high school, but I have learned to embrace them.
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
My favorite thing about being a blogger is meeting people or receiving e-mails from those who say that my blog post or review has helped them. That is one of the most amazing feelings!
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
I often thrift shop for pieces, and I have started to see a trend in some of the brands I purchase while thrifting, believe it or not. I particularly love Alfred Dunner! If I’m not thrifting, I really enjoy shopping online through ASOS, Forever 21, and JCPenney.
Describe your personal style.
I would say my personal style is eclectic. I can go from classic looks to funky prints.
Any bloggers currently on your radar?
I have had GabiFresh on my radar since I began blogging, but I would also say right now, I’m loving both The Je ne sais quoi and Cheap But Chic. They are both very sweet too!
Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
Embrace who you are. It took me a long time to learn to love myself for who God created me to be, but once you do that, life is so much easier and happier.
