CosMODA Alliance and Anta Productions Present: Curves Are Making a Comeback – Did We Ever Really Leave?

New York Fashion Week SS2026 is about to bend the runway in a bold new direction thanks to CosMODA Alliance and Anta Productions.
Visionary runway curator Catherine Schuller of Runway the Real Way reunites with producer Anta Niang of Anta Productions after a 23 year hiatus. Their last collaboration, the groundbreaking CurveStyle: Reshaping Fashion event in 2002, helped reignite industry conversation around fashion’s responsibility to serve and celebrate full figured femmes in the wake of the MODE Magazine closure following 9/11.
Now, they return with a question that feels both provocative and necessary:
Curves are making a comeback – but did we ever really leave?
After peaking at 26 percent runway inclusion in recent years, representation has sharply declined to an alarming 0.9 percent. Whether due to shifting industry priorities, the cultural obsession with weight loss drugs, or a lack of high fashion investment in this consumer, one thing is clear: the runway needs recalibration.
This showcase is that recalibration.
The Designers and Brands Leading the Shift
Luxury pop up destination Viva Voce, which opened its Williamsburg location in Fall 2025, anchors the presentation with 36 luxury brands including:

The showcase also expands its inclusivity lens with Bigger Picture, spotlighting modern Big and Tall menswear featuring designer Ndiol Elegance.
Accessories and craftsmanship take center stage with sustainable handbags from Volta Atelier and handmade Power Pieces from SC Designs.
Setting the tone for the afternoon, longtime BOPO advocate DJ Zeldon will curate the soundtrack.
This is not nostalgia. It is a statement.
It is edge.
It is elegance.
It is unapologetic representation.
Curvy women and Big and Tall men deserve to be fashion icons in their own right. This NYFW showcase places them exactly where they belong: center stage.
