Last week I headed downtown NYC to checkout the Boy Meets Girl Fall Collection. There were so many people waiting to see the show that the line took up an entire block and nearly wrapped around the corner. Now, I wasn’t too familiar with the Boy Meets Girl line, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. I entered the show with high hopes of becoming a fan.

After a super loud yet energetic performance from Natasha Bedingfield, models swayed down the runway in girlie tomboy pieces put together to create casual laid back looks. The collection spawned an eclectic mix of skater girl and surfer girl ensembles that included Boy Meets Girl logo hoodies, over-sized off the shoulder sweatshirts, board shorts, and super cute tights with the Boy Meets Girl logo embedded on them.
The color palette was a little drab with dark to light grays and black. I liked the youthful flair that the collection conveyed because they were actual pieces that you would see any teen or 20 something year old girl wear and feel comfortable. Although everything was not my taste, I did enjoy a leather and suede stitched skirt, a leather shoulder double breasted sweater jacket, a bevy of over-sized slouchy dresses, and zippered embellished skinny pants.
The designers vision was clear, boyish looks in girlish silhouettes a complete difference from the over sexed looks that young women rock today.

this collection to be a great piece to add as a neutral to a great palette of color.
