Things are changing and improving – in both the fashion industry and in the world in general – but we’re all still evolving and sometimes it’s surprising how homogeneous society is. The most beautiful thing is diversity – our differences are what makes the world an interesting place. Look at the various news articles that celebrate the firsts for plus size fashion, disability, amongst others!
To highlight this evolution and the beauty in diversity, AT&T created a documentary called Beauty Redefined, that I had a chance to be filmed and participate in, touching on these exact topics. This inspiring film is filled with interviews with some of the most influential people in the fashion industry, like Denise Bidot, Pat Cleveland, Ivan Bart, Beatrix Ost, Jillian Mercardo, Hari Nef and many more.
Beauty Redefined isn’t afraid to talk about the important issues that pervade our world and are reflected in the fashion industry. There will always be those who try to avoid change, but those who refuse to evolve will be left behind as relics of an exclusive past. We welcome those changes and can’t wait to see what will happen next!
